Guildford: What do I have to do to qualify to be an Economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics?
I'm hoping someone will have some experience they can share with me. I will graduate with a degree in Economics in a year from now. I've been looking at job listings for Economists and it seems like the BLS is the biggest hirer or Economists. I've been checking out the requirements listed on the usajobs.gov website, but I read somewhere that a major qualifier for the jobs was passing an economics test and I read that they had a practice test out there. I can't find any other reference to this test or the practice test. Ohmygod. I'm in shock right now. I came home and apparently my teacher called my mom and told her that I was fooling around in class. So she told me that I'd be spanked. We just got engaged 3 months ago. Right after we got engaged he got laid off from his job of 4 years! So he got a night job a week later to make ends meet. I hate that he works nights because we never see each other anymore between my working schedule and his. He has looked for other employment but NOBODY is hiring with the way this economy is. Guildford: Should I just give my two week notice...?
I have been a little sad lately. And that includes times when I am at work...I am not depressed. I know what I am sad about. I haven't cried or yelled, or been mean to anyone... But, I am the receptionist and I haven't been my bubbly self. My boss told me today, that if I don't go back to bubbly by the end of the year, she is going to fire me. I explained to her that emotionally I am going through some stuff and though she listened an smiled, she was rather cold about it. I have thought about this today and find it no where near supportive! I know she wants the old me, but is FIRING me going to help my situation?
