I have worked as a server for three years, but even before I did I never thought about percent when it came to tip. My old standard for tipping was at least $5 per person in my party. Of course with the price of everything going up, the rare times I can afford to eat out, it is $10 per person. I eat at restaurants were the average cost of a mean is around $20 for adults and $10 for children. When you eat out you are paying the restaurant for the food, and then the tip is how you pay your server for the service you have been given.
