Ok here's the deal. I've posted before at the disappointment I've discovered with law enforcement hiring practices but I figured one more try couldn't hurt. My final attempt at this field is with a metro type police job and here's what happened. Passed the civil, oral, poly, and waiting on the background. The first parts took under a week. The site for the department clearly states 8-12 week process to hire. I took the civil service test August 1st... I recently deployed to the middle east in support of Operation Iraqi freedom. There is a chance i will be home before christmas. The presidency at that time had no secret service protection..indeed, Lincoln was frequently seen walking the streets of washington by himself...Why (if this is true) did the south not simply send in agents into washington to do the job?
