Gloucester: How much do colleges value volunteer work and community service?
If you haven't read my previous questions, I'm a junior in high school set on going to Georgetown University to study international relations and american government in particular. I'm a straight A student in all honors courses and will take 5 AP courses in the next year and a half (AP US, AP Eng, AP French, AP Environmental Sci., and AP Stat and Prob.) I'm not too worried about my academics (I'll be fighting my procrastinating tendencies to make sure I excel in those AP courses), I'll be taking the SAT in January and in the spring and I've done plenty of studying and researching SAT prep. I'm the president of 2 clubs (french and ultimate frisbee) and ... 03 Dec 08, 04:12:04
Gloucester: International Post to China?
Do the Chinese government open post that goes into their country from overseas? I was thinking of sending job papers from the USA, this is so that my friend can see what type of positions they have available here. Maybe the Chinese government will get suspicious that one of its citizens want to leave?... 03 Dec 08, 03:12:32
Gloucester: Am I making the right decision career-wise? Please, help me out here! Thank you veryy much!:D?
I'm a recent high school grad and have don't really have an interest in anything. Just recently I’ve grown an interest in international business. I know I probably won’t get the most fun and rewarding career out of it, but I honestly don’t like anything else. I'm the type of person who knows when I don't like something and I know that I don't like anything because I've done tons and tons of research on every single job and career. I've also taken plenty of classes in anything that I think may interest me. I was home schooled, so I really need some helpful advice. The international business major really appeals to me, but I just want to know if it will... 03 Dec 08, 03:12:15

Gloucester: Do you need a college degree to get a higher end, paying job for a nonprofit?
This is something I've considered, the best I can do with my education thus far is donate blood and/or money to the Red Cross or other organizations (which I don't donate money since I don't have any) but none-the-less I'm limited.
Right now I'm working toward getting a bachelors and I've considered majors in political science, economics, sociology, international studies, and or business. Basically the social science and/or business. Would this help?... 03 Dec 08, 03:12:33
Gloucester: I'm thinking about getting my nose pierced, but I also want a serious career?
I'm a freshman in college, international relations major, and I would like to go to law school eventually and work for either the UN or an embassy. However, I also really want to get my nose pierced. I understand all the risks, etc, and would get it done professionally. Would it be a bad idea? What would it look like if I took the stud out and let it heal up before I got a job? Opinions & advice, please, and no jerks telling me I'm an idiot, etc. Thank you in advance!... 03 Dec 08, 02:12:00

Gloucester: Where can I get an entry-level job in Economic Development?
I would like to get some work experience before going to grad school, but it's very difficult to find an entry-level position in economic development. I would love to go overseas and be willing to do just about anything to get some experience. I'm also really interested in microfinance.
It's also funny that grad schools want to see experience before you apply ...yet it seems impossible to get a job in international development without a masters!
Any suggestions other than the peace corps?... 02 Dec 08, 11:12:08
