Gloucester: Why so anti-union in regards to the Auto Industry?
As a UAW Ford hourly who doesn't get $70 hr, we have made big concessions on our last 2007 national contract, and wer'e about to give up our job bank as we speak. Tommorrow, the UAW is having a emergency meeting to discuss additional concessions when the union renegotiates our current contract. How come they keep sending assembly plants to Mexico, and call them American made? But what will our executives, managers, supervisors and salaried give up? As an insider, we have way too many chiefs in each facility. The auto industry and unions have brought so much to this country. Fair wages, lunch breaks, health benefits, equal employment labor rights, and provided military transportation... 03 Dec 08, 04:12:51

A certain Council want a CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTOR, salary £128.000
Another Council wants an INTEGRATED CONNEXIONS 4 YOUTH
(whatever that's supposed to be) at £50000
and in the NHS I read that a Hospital is seeking a FALLS CO-ORDINATOR who's job will be to collect info on folk WHO fall over in the hospital, salary £44000.
Is there no end to this crap?... 02 Dec 08, 02:12:09

Gloucester: Did you hear of Dept of Labor is rushing to complete new rule to make it harder for govt to regulate toxic &?
hazardous substances and hazardous chemicals to which workers are exposed on the job.
The rule, which has strong support from business groups, says that in assessing the risk from a particular substance, federal agencies should gather and analyze “industry-by-industry evidence” of employees’ exposure to it during their working lives. The proposal would, in many cases, add a step to the lengthy process of developing standards to protect workers’ health.
Public health officials and labor unions said the rule would delay needed protections for workers, resulting in additional deaths and illnesses.
