Gloucester: Adults/People past high school.. Would you agree that high school was or is the best time of your life?
My uncle told me this. And it really got me thinking. I dream of an adventurous and beautiful life after schooling but sometimes life seems so predictable. Get a job, work a lot, and maybe get married and have some kids. Are my dreams lost? I'm a freshman and although highschool isn't my cup of tea I'm enjoying it. I don't like to get involved in drugs or drinking, I'm not the party hard type of person, I go out every weekend but most of the time being alone sounds more appealing, and I'm a reserved and deep person. If highschool is the best time of my life do I need to change who I am in order to have fun? I'm not sure if I'm willing to do so....

Gloucester: I need help, would you say I'm a loser?
OK, I have tried to get a real job for 6 months with this fancy dual college degree and haven't gotten it yet. I thought my luck ran out so I applied at Quizno's, which of course is a fast food job. I stopped trying because of that and because I live in Cleveland, Ohio, which has terrible economy and just about everything else, I was just sick of what was out there and had to do what I could to make money. Plus I got tired of the corporate f*cks that played games and weren't smart enough to hire me after I sold myself showing the best ambitious traits I could and showing them the nearly 1 page long of leadership experience I had on my resume. So would you say I'm a lo...

Gloucester: Temporary Job Advice?
I'm a college graduate with a bachelors and some sales/office jobs experience. I want to work in the marketing field but am having lots of trouble finding internships or entry level jobs in this field. That being said, i wanted to improve my resume with a temporary job. I've got an interview with waddell and reed for a financial advisor position and I'm also applying to AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Which of these jobs would look better on my resume for a marketing job? I really don't want to sell insurance (is this a bad time b/c of the economy?). I would rather sell products which i have some interest/familiarity in such as cell phones but if one will help me more in t...

Gloucester: If you go to college that has good reputation and more expensive, would you have easier time in finding job?

Gloucester: How much do colleges value volunteer work and community service?
If you haven't read my previous questions, I'm a junior in high school set on going to Georgetown University to study international relations and american government in particular. I'm a straight A student in all honors courses and will take 5 AP courses in the next year and a half (AP US, AP Eng, AP French, AP Environmental Sci., and AP Stat and Prob.) I'm not too worried about my academics (I'll be fighting my procrastinating tendencies to make sure I excel in those AP courses), I'll be taking the SAT in January and in the spring and I've done plenty of studying and researching SAT prep. I'm the president of 2 clubs (french and ultimate frisbee) and ...

Gloucester: A guy friend of mine is rushing into relationships..?
We used to go out, but it ended, and since then he's been going out with girl after girl and sleeping around a lot. Now he's in a relationship with a really nice girl, but says he's gonna marry her. They haven't been together too long, but he wants to spend every waking moment with her (sweet or clingy?), he's started going to the gym and got a tattoo on his arm even though he's underage. He doesn't even see me or his other college friends anymore because of his job and this girl. The girl he went out with after me cheated on him, is this something to do with it? The thing is, even if it doesn't work out, he'll be with another girl within a week a...

Gloucester: What, if any, are the positives of joing the air national guard?
I almost joined the air force active duty last year, but was talked out of it. My husband is also active duty. I feel like my life is passing me by, and I just don't have anything that I am passionate about anymore. Im in college, but my major is something that I like, but I dont LOVE. But, I just turned 21, and I feel rushed to chose something. Plus, we can't afford anything, and I hate minimum wage jobs. If I do something that can be used as a career I know I will be way more dedicated. My husband and I want to start a family someday, and I want to be able to afford my babies, and be able to tell them all the things I accomplished when I was younger. Going to college is great, bu...

Gloucester: Freshman planning life...career help any suggestions?
Alright, so I'm a freshman in high school and I'm thinking about what I want to become ahead of time. It seems like everything I want to become don't need any school(college) to become it. I'm talking about becoming a photographer or owning and running a restaurant. The problem is I want a back-up plan, I want to go to a 4-year school with a career that pays well or too much. I'm very well working with computers and electronics(cameras mostly). I rather work alone self-employed being my own boss, but if the job is worth it I don't care working with others. Any suggestions???...
