If you haven't read my previous questions, I'm a junior in high school set on going to Georgetown University to study international relations and american government in particular. I'm a straight A student in all honors courses and will take 5 AP courses in the next year and a half (AP US, AP Eng, AP French, AP Environmental Sci., and AP Stat and Prob.) Glastonbury: How do I get started in teaching English abroad?
I have a BSE in ELA Secondary Education and am currently working towards a MSE in the same field. I would like to teach English overseas as a foreign language for a year or two before I settle down in the states. What steps should I take towards this goal?
With my credentials and background in teaching English (only practicum and student internship thus far), do I still need to obtain a TEFL certificate (such as the CELTA)? I know it's not specifically a requirement for many countries, but it almost essential, correct? Also, instead of investing in a TEFL course here, is it possible to wait until I am hired to see if they will provide the course there (and pay for it)?

Glastonbury: Will i get into Virginia Tech...?
I have been extremely nervous over this for the past few months, please help... I currently have a 3.44 GPA, which is with AP and Honor courses, and a 1020 SAT (SUCKS) and a 25 ACT, but i have been a member of the marching band, key club, and sca. I have a part time job. I also have competed in both the Science and History fair, and I play both the piano and clarinet. I am a brown belt in karate. Also, I am a nominee for the NHS and quit recently, my teacher has nominated my essay to the bill of rights institute ( BEING AN AMERICAN ESSAY CONTEST) for further consideration, she can only submit 5 papers out of all 150 students. Do they own the University of Bridgeport? If not, then why are some faculty members, members of the administration and students members of the church? Also, the current president of the university was once president of the Unification Church in the U.S. Would he have his current job if he was not involved with the church? My daughter lives in public housing and is a full-time student. But lately her job has been cutting her hours and now she is unable to pay her rent. i am always going to help her as long as she needs it but is there anything she can do to help lower her rent until she finds another job?
