Glastonbury: What has the Department of Energy accomplished in the last thirty one years?
Bottom line . . we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency the reason for which not one person who reads will know or can recall. Ready? It was very simple, and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate. The Department of Energy was instituted 8-04-1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil! Pretty efficient, huh?
And now it is 2008, 31 years later and the budget for this necessary department is at $24.2 billion a year. They have 16,000 federal employees and approximately 100,000 contract employees and look at the the job they have done! Please help me. For the past week I've been living in random spots around town. I'm 21 (male) and I'm trying to get a job at a local factory when there is a position available. The staffing agencies say that people usually quit after New Years, so my chances of getting a job then is pretty good. Glastonbury: What are the requirments for getting a job with ICE (immigation customs enforcement)?
Well, everyone already knows how the economy is. I am going to finish my degree in economics by the end of the summer. Anybody that works for ICE how was to get in? training? I live near Washington D.C. I would like to work with ice but not sure about the training and assignments. Also another agency I was thinking of is FBI. Would they hire me with a degree in Economics. My ideal job would be something not in the office out in the field. Please recommend I am worried that I wont be able to get a good job.

Glastonbury: Can I have anyone be my acting agent?
I am trying to act and i know that I need an agent. My question is, can I have anyone be my agent? I have some adult friends who would make great agents, especially since I'm very selective about what jobs to take since money is tight and travel is very hard. I would have hired one of my friends in a heartbeat, but since they aren't really an official agency or something, I was not sure if this would be acceptable....

Glastonbury: What can I and what should I do?? Office affair!!?
I work for a small non-profit agency. There is a total of 9 people who work there, 1 man and 8 women. The man is the Executive Director of the organization. He favors one women in the office. They are always flirting and touching. This is very uncomfortable to the rest of us. He always takes her side no matter what. She's always in his office talking about who know what and about us too. I couple months ago I moved across the country to be with my long-term boyfriend. Everything has been great, and it's been the best thing I ever did for myself except with one little glich... I can't find a job here! Glastonbury: Should i take a job even though i know i will quit in 8 months?
I moved to a new state to get married, and now i am unemployed. Next fall i will be starting professional school full time, until then however, i need to find work to save up some money. This agency found me a job, and its a nice place, with nice people, but they probably think that i am in it for the long haul. Should i take the job, or should i continue to be unemployed?
Also, i have found that nobody wants to hire me when i tell them im in it for the short term, and i when i try to apply for labor jobs, people dont want to hire me because i have a master's degree....
