Glastonbury: Position eliminated, offered 2 weeks severance...?
I was let go from my job today due to the company claiming they are doing away with my position. Its actually impossible for them to do so. I work in A/R for a multi-million dollar corp. and with 3 people in our dept. we are already extremely short handed.
The reasoning for me being let go, I believe, is because I had information that would show that the controller, the A/R manager and the A/R lead had no clue about what our dept. was about and what the difference is between sales and royalties.
We had a meeting scheduled with the Finance team this week to discuss this since it was really important for them to understand how things work, again this would be very bad for the 3 mentio... 03 Dec 08, 04:12:42

Glastonbury: What are my chances on getting a 30k mortgage 5-6 months from now?
My fiance and I are planning on buying a house in NC and have decided to look into buying a starter home for 35-40k. (Yes, we know they will need work but for our own reasons and agendas we have decided on this amount)
I graduate in May and we plan to start the process then which is why i say 5-6 months away. At that time we will have the 20% downpayment (roughly $7000) as well as closing costs. My fiance has a bit rough credit but has had a steady job making just over $30k/year for the past three years. Which is equal to the mortgage we seek. Me on the other hand, I have 720 credit but since I am a student, although I have a steady job, its obviously not sufficent being part-time.

Glastonbury: I thought it was funny, what about u?
A lawyer married a woman who had previously divorced ten husbands.
On their wedding night, she told her new husband, Please be gentle, I'm still a virgin.
What? said the puzzled groom.
How can that be if you've been married ten times?
Well, Husband #1 was a sales representative, he kept telling me how great it was going to be.
Husband #2 was in software services, he was never real
Husband #3 was from field services, he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up.
Husband #4 was in telemarketing, even though he knew he had the order, he didn't know when he would be ab... 02 Dec 08, 10:12:59
Glastonbury: Should I break up with my significant other?
We've been living together for a little over a year, dating for about six months longer than that. We've even talked marriage and kids. I'm very picky. I rarely dated anyone until him and he is essentially my first serious relationship. I used to joke with my friends, because I'm very focused on having a job and going to college and because I've never been a dater. Things have changed in my life lately, I've moved away from those friends(hence I'm asking strangers), and I'm in love. I prefer to go home and be with him instead of doing things I used to, like working overtime, going hiking, and going to the gym. I miss those things though. But I love him... 02 Dec 08, 10:12:37
