Germany: My fiance is going to be blind in 6 months; what should I know?
I am a 24 year old Dutch American, and my fiance, whom I've been best friends with since junior high, is a 22 year old Asian American (of Korean descent), and his doctors have confirmed that he will be completely blind in 6 months. He initially asked me to break off the engagement, saying that I deserve someone I can be happy with and not feel burdened by, but you know what - screw that: I love him more than anyone else in this world.
That being said, I want to prepare myself for the coming hardships whether they be financial or marital. We both graduated with Electrical Engineering degrees from Yale, but I must say that I'm very concerned as to whether either of us will be able... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:35

Germany: TX Teaching Quitting Mid-Year - Any chance for employment?
Teacher Quitting Mid Year (TX)?
I need serious help. I just started teaching on a probationary certificate in Texas. Its just about mid-year and I can't make my bills. I'm supporting my husband and son (husband can not work right now) and the money just isn't there.
How bad is this going to look on my resume? I realize my principal isn't going to give me a stellar review for leaving mid year but will I ever find any kind of job again? This just isn't working out and I'm seriously worried.
I've tried to apply for TANF/FoodStamps, but I apparently make too much for that. Moving to a smaller apartment probably won't make much of a difference and ... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:45
Germany: Please let me know what you think of my disccusion question thanks!! ?
Why do sociologists say that physical health and mental health are relative terms that are culturally defined?
What makes someone spiritually unhealthy?
Since quality healthcare can be a matter of life or death, should all Americans have equal access to it? If yes, why don't they? If no, why shouldn't they?
Is it fair that successful individuals who have sacrificed to get an education and gained employment that includes healthcare insurance be taxed for free healthcare for those who are without insurance or the ability to pay?
My awnser:
I think that what makes someone spiritually unhealthy is how they perceive their life. If a person decides to base their life around ho... 02 Dec 08, 04:12:18

Germany: Please read- Question about employment status & taxes?
I have been working at my job since Feb of 2008 as a 1099 contractor. I work in an office Monday through Friday, and use all of my bosses equipment and have my own office, etc. Is it legal for him to keep me as a contractor? I have heard that when you work the hours they set for you, use their equipment, do the job the way they want it done, etc then that makes you an employee... I make phone calls and do marketing for the company, and I do not make much money, between $11,000 and $15,000 a year, but these are all 1099 wages and I am going to be hurting when tax time rolls around.. I don't know how I'll pay for the taxes. Shouldn't I be an employee by now? Is this something I ... 02 Dec 08, 04:12:43
Germany: I was answered after the interview, but, what does this means. Can anyone please tell me...?
I applied for a federal employment. I went through the first resume & questions screening process and I was appointed for a telephone interview. After the interview, the interviewer asked for my e-mail and told me I would be receiving a mobility contract by (she told me the name of the person).
Anyone that has filed and obtained a federal employment out there... does this means that I passed the interview? Or do they do this to everyone? Please... I would really like to know, this is a very important issue of my life. I know you may not know 100% but I would like to know if anyone went through the same, and what happened. Thank you.
(Federal employees preferred, but if you know abo... 02 Dec 08, 04:12:18
Germany: Aussies studying in the UK. ?
I am an Australian who wants to study in the UK to get residency.
We all know if you become a student in the UK you can apply to stay once you have your qualification. I want to study hospitality and tourism management when I am over there. A university degree is a bit too expensive for my budget. Are there any courses in hospitality and tourism that you can take on a student visa to get a qualification that will enable you to stay there, that isn't a university degree?
If you studied over there for lets say a BTEC or NVQ (I hope that's correct) would you be able to use your qualifications from that to stay and seek employment or would you have to go on to university if you ... 02 Dec 08, 03:12:57
