Folkestone: Invasion of privacy and fraud? Do I have a legal case?
I donated $18 dollars to the ASPCA in January of 2008, only to find out they take that $18 every month. So I canceled my donations in February of 2008. In order to donate that money, I had to give my check card number. In 9 months I lost my job and am currently on unemployment. In NC, the unemployment money goes onto a state issued debit card which obviously is not the same card that I had when I first made a donation. I was reading over my statements for this state debit card and realized the ASPCA had taken $10 off my NEW card. How they got this information, I do not know. I also received a letter in the mail dated November 4th saying they appreciate me speaking to a representative ... 02 Dec 08, 06:12:54
Folkestone: Parkway Lending Group?
I was contacted by a gentlemand named Joshua Redd who stated that I was approved for a loan of $5000.00. He advised me because I have some credit issues that I would have to secure the loan with $1200 which would equl the first 8 months worth of loan payments. So basically I would not have a payment due until Aug of 2009. I agreed (like an idiot) to wire some lady named Linda Price in Canada $1200.00 on a Thursday and supposedly the funds were to be deposited in my account on Friday. Well I wired the money as promised, called Joshua with the money gram number and he stated the funds were good to go and would be in my account the next day. Well Friday came around and I received a phone call f... 02 Dec 08, 06:12:41

Folkestone: Salary laws in Texas?
I am a medical provider employed by a small hospital. I used to work their ER as an independent contractor, but they said the hosiptal would not survive unless I went to the clinic FT. They had issues down there, so I was reluctant, but the adminstrator then begged and begged and I accepted a job that he offered at a contractual 32 hours per week only. BUT they have been calculating my pay at a 40 hour work week, and saying this legal, BUT AGAIN, when I work less than 32 hours a week they take it off and pay me at the 40 hour work week pay rate. This cuts my hourly pay (even though I am salaried) by $11 an hour and I feel they owe me back pay. Can they do this??... 02 Dec 08, 02:12:10

Folkestone: Is there an Arizona law?
I live in Arizona, and I currently work for a security company as an armed officer. There are many times i work 9, 10, 11, 12, even 13 hours and only getting paid for 8. Technically we, as supervisors, are being forced to stay to get the work done as our boss has threatened our jobs on several occasions. My boss has also harassed and insulted other employees. Can anyone assist me in finding the arizona law(s) stating that this kind of treatment is illegal?
Also, I have received a minor (0.25 cents) reduction in pay. Is this also legal? Can anybody direct me to the website that states these laws.
Also, is there a law for the maximum hours an armed officer can work in a 24 hour period?

Folkestone: Recruitment law, is this legal?
I work for an agency of a company (I'm employed by the agency and not the parent company). There is a senior post open which I am going through the selection process for and am at the final interview stage. Things are looking good but I have been told that there is a person that works for the parent company that is desperately wanting the job. He has not had to go through any of the recruiting phases that the other candidates have had to go for. A good source has told me that he and I are the prime candidates for the job. Is this legal?
I am in the UK.
Wayne, The other candidate is also looking to be promoted and therefore has gone through a selection process yes, but not for this r... 02 Dec 08, 07:12:40
Folkestone: How do I get my money back from a fraud businessman?
I was introduced to a business person a year ago who then was starting a new company. His education, business experience, and the business idea seemed impressive so I joined his team which consisted of investing $3k (in return for shares) and working for the start-up (for no pay). Over the course of the upcoming months, I found out that the business person had lied about his education, and his business experience (he had claimed to have owned several companies but in reality he was only an employee there. He had no prior business experience!). Several of my friends left his company but I didn't officially leave. I was never given my $3k worth of promised shares, and never signed an empl... 02 Dec 08, 06:12:52
