Folkestone: How can I look for or find an international job?
I would like to find a job out of the US for 1-2 years but do not wish to join the military, want to be somewhere safe but do not want to travel for a living. I am not sure what I want to do. I want something interesting, meaningful and a big change.
I don't have an education, but I am 34 and have worked since 14 and have had many successful jobs in different fields. Any great ideas, or good websites or businesses I can check with?... 02 Dec 08, 06:12:51
Folkestone: How can I find an international job?
Find a job out of the US. Not to join the military. Not sure what I want to do. I want something interesting, meaningful and a big change. Not to travel for a living. But maybe take a job overseas fromt eh US, somewhere safe, for a year or two. I don't have an education, but I am 34 and have worked since 14 and have had many successful jobs.... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:55
Folkestone: So Democrats, please tell us how your Lord Obama will fix all of our problems?
Obama plans to;
1. Raise the Minimum Wage (which will make companies either go out of business or outsource much of their jobs to a different nation in order to save money, which will not really help our unemployment rate!)
2. Pay off our 5 trillion dollar (or more) debt
3. End a War and repair Iraq (which if we don't we will face international backlash)Not to mention, when he says he wants to discontinue the war, he means that he just wants to relocate a notable amount of troops to different nations (Afghanistan)
4. Invest in Alternative Energy (one example......do you know how much money it costs to build those wind power towers and how little power we get from them, sure I am a... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:23
Folkestone: IS A BUSINESS MAJOR WITH A CONCENTRATION IN MARKETING A GOOD MAJOR?
I'm in international business (freshman) and was thinking of switching to marketing before it's too late.
I'm only in international business because my mom thought it was best for me, but I want to do marketing.
If I am fluent in three-five languages by the end of college (four years), graduate with a marketing major, and want to eventually be an entrepreneur, would this allow me to get a good job?
Or would international business still be better?
I know I should follow my heart, but in my case I really need to follow the path to filling my wallet. lol.
I want to get married and settle down which is another reason I am worrying over international business...I... 02 Dec 08, 09:12:45
Folkestone: I NEED ADVICE AND I KNOW PEOPLE HERE GIVE GOOD ADVICE: I WANT TO SWITCH MAJORS IN COLLEGE, BUT I'M SCARED?
I'm a freshman and am majoring in international business only because i'm good at languages and have studied abroad/do well abroad...
the thing is that I don't want to spend my entire life traveling the world because I want to get married, settle down, and start a family. I already know who I am marrying and I want to be an entrepreneur.
The truth is that as much as I love languages, I would rather be majoring in marketing (where I could at least graduate on time!...International business is the degree with the most credits needed at my school plus i'm taking my 3rd language:/)
I was thinking that if I majored in marketing, I could work with global companies and work i... 02 Dec 08, 09:12:20
Folkestone: I KINDA WANT TO SWITCH MY MAJORS...IS THIS A GOOD PLAN?!?
I'm a first-time freshman in college and am in International Business.
The only reason I chose this major is because I'm good at languages and have studied abroad and get along with foreigners and love airplane food etc., but my major has the most requirements (if I learn a language) and I'll probably graduate at least 1 year later than planned because I'm learning my third language and plan to learn two more.
I'm great at languages and business, but the truth is that I really prefer marketing...i'm hyper creative (one reason i'm good at languages [and art, cooking, and music...but those are hard to make money with lol]) and always found it so thrilling.... 02 Dec 08, 08:12:34

Folkestone: Need legal advice with an employment contract?
I was offered a job with clauses like this in the contract:
