Folkestone: I'm not letting my girlfriend leave without me. Advice?
So here's the deal...My girlfriend and I are both 15, in love, we live in PA, but my girlfriend has a stupid father that she has to see on weekends sometimes so she can make sure her little brother and sister will come home safely. Well recently, her dad's been acting weird and her mom's scared and told her they might move. My girlfriend and i aren't stupid kids. We know we're in love. I can promise you that. She told me she's not leaving me behind and I told her I'm not letting her anyway. We decided to turn to other family members to live with. We have four options; We can live with her cousins in Maine, move into her own house in Hawaii, move with some f... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:12
Folkestone: Why in the black community are some praised for their achievements and others are belittled?
Those praised - Obama, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Malcolm X, Maya Angelou
Those not praised - Condi Rice, Bill Cosby, Colin Powell (before he supported Obama), Clearance Thomas
As an outsider looking in, I see a person like Dr. Rice being considered a sell out when she lived in Alabama during segregation while Obama who lived in Hawaii. I am not saying he has never experienced racism but who do you think went through more. I did not see t-shirts and praise when Gen. Powell became the first black secretary of state. In that position, he is the face of our nation to the world. When I was a kid, I remember hearing how black people hated the Cosby show because it was not real enou... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:39
Folkestone: What career should I pick?
We don't have a career advisor at our school. I don't know what I like apart from Capoeira and writing fiction. When I ask people I know they'll say do English at university, or Medicine, or Law.
To be honest I have no idea. All I know is that I want to live comfortably. Be able to work and still be home in time for my children. I imagine a fireplace in a study and a huge library of books. I also want to be able to eat out with my family or friends, whenever I want, get good tickets at the theatre (which seems expensive) or cinema.
As for the job I want. I want to be able to talk about it. It doesn't have to a be a specific case but generally, especially at dinne... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:33

Folkestone: Does mythology help you be a better person and understand the world better?
I have read a lot of mythology stories from a variety of cultures and religions. They tell the history of culture, how to live and often offer great lessons of morality. Joseph Campbell teaches that the myths, if were taught in school today, many troubled kids would find the stories as a mentor to assist them in making better decisions and create a deeper self value and stronger community. What do you think?... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:38
Folkestone: Was the prop 8 result a back lash against gays asking for too much?
I have a feeling that the people of CA had been bending over backwards accommodating every whim and fancy of the gay community and when it came to the definition of marriage they drew a line and said enough is enough. Gays really do have the same rights as everyone else no body can marry someone of the same sex in CA not just gays.
Do agree?... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:43
