Exeter: Statue Of Limitations in NC Medical Malpractice?
I've just recently found out that a surgical sponge has been left in me after having hernia surgery back in 2001. I've had abdominal pain which I thought was due to a small cyst on my ovaries. I lived with the pain due to being a college student with 2 part time jobs and no health insurance. After having severe pain most of the night, I went to the ER and the ER doc orderd a CT scan which revealed a sponge located in my lower abdomin near my bladder. That explained the constant urinary tract infections I've had over the years as well as my stomach pains. What are my rights? Is it too late? I'm taking pain meds to alleviate the pain and I'm scheduled to have surgery ... 02 Dec 08, 04:12:35

Exeter: Am I under paid for this job ? ?
I do multiple roles for a doctor who owns 4 companies:
*a properties company (In the U.S)
*health clinic
*a company that owns the building where the clinic is.
*company that has patent to a new key chain design & hoping to design a medical records company.
Now my duties are to do the bookkeeping and accounting duties for all companies, manage his personal estate (his personal bills, personal properties, other matters to do with him and his son who's 19 years old living elsewhere), manage his staff (about 10 of them mostly in the clinic with few in the properties company), payroll, deal with tenant issues and make sure they paid their rent, and to take things to the next le... 02 Dec 08, 04:12:12
Exeter: Laying a foundation for fighting anticipated job dismissal due to diagnosed mental illness?
I hope someone can help me. I am a professor. I am diagnosed with bipolar illness and am being treated for it. Unfortunately, last fall I had to take a medical leave after experiencing symptoms that made it impossible for me to continue to teach. I formally requested modest accommodations last spring upon my return, which were denied. In order to get my job back, my employer made me sign a document stating that I was deficient in my duties and that I was now on probation. I expect I will be terminated in January for a variety of unsubstantiated reasons I won't go into here. My question is: are there things I can be doing now that will give me a foundation on which to challenge a ... 02 Dec 08, 03:12:49

Exeter: Any Teachers Quit Mid-Year?
I need serious help. I just started teaching on a probationary certificate in Texas. Its just about mid-year and I can't make my bills. I'm supporting my husband and son (husband can not work right now) and the money just isn't there.
How bad is this going to look on my resume? I realize my principal isn't going to give me a stellar review for leaving mid year but will I ever find any kind of job again? This just isn't working out and I'm seriously worried.
I've tried to apply for TANF/FoodStamps, but I apparently make too much for that. Moving to a smaller apartment probably won't make much of a difference and I can't afford medical insuran... 02 Dec 08, 03:12:21
Exeter: Salary laws in Texas?
I am a medical provider employed by a small hospital. I used to work their ER as an independent contractor, but they said the hosiptal would not survive unless I went to the clinic FT. They had issues down there, so I was reluctant, but the adminstrator then begged and begged and I accepted a job that he offered at a contractual 32 hours per week only. BUT they have been calculating my pay at a 40 hour work week, and saying this legal, BUT AGAIN, when I work less than 32 hours a week they take it off and pay me at the 40 hour work week pay rate. This cuts my hourly pay (even though I am salaried) by $11 an hour and I feel they owe me back pay. Can they do this??... 02 Dec 08, 02:12:10
Exeter: Can you get a social security card without any type of photo id?
I need to get a replacement social security card but I'm not sure if I have the right stuff to do it. (I have had one but its lost and I've torn the house apart twice with no luck) I have my Insurance card (which is expired) and my access card (which I believe goes along with my insurance card, to be honest I am not sure. And its not a food stamp card, I know there called Acess cards too.) I'm also have my birth certificate, and I have a copy of a life insurance policy my father has on me, but its a copy, which might not work, and I'm working on getting my medical records. However, I do not have ANY photo Id of any kind. No State Id, license, passport, or school Id card. ... 02 Dec 08, 02:12:18
