Edinburgh: can you help me to write a motivation letter?
I need help to write in a good english a motivation letter. I wrote it but I think there are many mistakes. Can you please check my english? the letter shouldn't be formal; all suggestion are accepted!! thank you!!! I am XXXX an undergraduate student of Computer Engineering at the University of Tor Vergata. I am 22 years old and I live in Rome, my hometown. Since I was a little child I wanted to travel, and spend some time in a foreign country and culture; I am an open-minded girl that likes to meet new people, cultures and styles of life. This is the main reason because last year I decided to leave Italy and live one year outside my home, and my country. I reached the ...

Edinburgh: Should I stay in this new job?
Hi all, I have just started a new job as a researcher (market research), after a year of working on two business magazines as a staff writer. I am feeling very confused because even though I have only been at this new job a few days and the learning pace is very gentle, I feel exhausted and emotionally drained. When I started, I had another newbie colleague as well, and I am starting to have negative thoughts that she is doing better than me - she seems to remember things we were told that I don't, gets what our colleagues are talking about while I'm still lagging behind, and just seems to be catching on faster. I do not want to be hasty, but I am trying to figure out what ...

Edinburgh: My boyfriend is in prison for assaulting me... advise please?
Right can I start by saying please do not send any sarcy comments or insults, as I have been through enough recently without that. Where do I start? About 2 months ago I recieved what I would say a proper beating (I was bitten, kicked, punched, dragged by my hair, spat on and then attempted to be strangled for making too much noise before work) from my other half, this wasn't the first time it had happened, but I hadn't called the police before as he promised to change. But unfortunately on this particular day I ran away to my car outside the house and he followed me and smashed up my car with a wooden pole to get me out, oops! The police were called and he was arrested. You are pr...

Edinburgh: What career should I pick?
We don't have a career advisor at our school. I don't know what I like apart from Capoeira and writing fiction. When I ask people I know they'll say do English at university, or Medicine, or Law. To be honest I have no idea. All I know is that I want to live comfortably. Be able to work and still be home in time for my children. I imagine a fireplace in a study and a huge library of books. I also want to be able to eat out with my family or friends, whenever I want, get good tickets at the theatre (which seems expensive) or cinema. As for the job I want. I want to be able to talk about it. It doesn't have to a be a specific case but generally, especially at dinne...

Edinburgh: Should I move out of the US?
My boyfriend got a great job out of the US. He will be moving to England in 6 months to start his position. He wants me to move with him, but I have not finished school yet. But because his position will pay so well I will not have to work. Plus he wants to get married before we move or right after. I hate being so far away from my family. But I love him more than anything in the world, I am also excited about learning and living in a new culture. What are the pros and cons? What should I do?...

Edinburgh: i need opinions on this custody question, but warning, it might be lengthy, but opinions desperately needed!!?
Ok, my friend has custody of her son. A few years ago, they went to court, she got custody. His father gets him every other weekend and every sun. i think. The father is supposed to pay child support and his tuition for school. The child has a small learning disability and was struggeling in public school, but in this private school with smaller classes he is blossoming wonderfully and has made honor roll several times in a row!!! His mother works TWO jobs and is on call with another company to support her family. His father is not paying anything! There has been altercations when my friend has picked up her child where the man has called her a whore in front of their child. Totally untrue, ...

Edinburgh: Is this A positve worldview?
Well I am a far right wing conservative - As right as they come & let me see I got this idea from another question and well .....yeah Everyone is a sinner. = Ok yeah, so what. Saved by grace and now with a hope. God came to us while we were yet sinners and called him enemy to give us and show us love and forgiveness. No one is perfect and all have fallen short of the Glory of God. We are all equal all the same, one people and we all make mistakes and we are all hypocrites from time to time that is part of learning and growing (up) other wise we would be stagnate. Love The world is full of sin. = Yep but also filled with love and hope of a better tomorrow. God is love Sceince...
