Edinburgh: How to look for a new better JOb while still working( cause need the money)?
I've never had to switch jobs before. Usually i've finished assingments given to me by Temp agencies and then look for a new job. So when i finish a temporary job, i've had all the time and free time to look for a new job full time.
But this time it's different, i have student loans, car to pay, rent to pay and i have to make payments every month. If i quit my current job , then i'll have no money and i'll be in trouble.
My current job was advertised as a Scanning project assignment and we don't even do any scanning, it's mostly removing sttaples and preparing documents and listen to this.... CLEAN a dirty disgusting house: dust, vacuum , etc ... 22 Aug 08, 03:08:40
Edinburgh: Being Computer savy and knowing alittle HTML, and programming gets you NO JOB???
I'm did not get a degree in computer science, but i took some classes. I only know Java and HTML, and alittle javascript, some Applescript, I know about Algorithms alittle.. i can program games and make small programs.
Does this knowledge have NO VALUE at all??
Seems companies are made to believe that the only skills of value is having Degrees in c omputer science but let me tell you an example:
I worked at an Engineering company doing document control. ALthough my job was not related at all to programming, i managed to make some scripts to make the job easier. The guy that had been working there for years was saying that the work he was doing would last long, but i made this s... 22 Aug 08, 03:08:12
Edinburgh: Intelligent ladies, does my ex want me back and is hesitant?
My ex and I have been seperated for a little over 4 months now. We went out for 3 years and had a great relationship. The breakup seemed like it was caused because of timing. I was finishing up school, working, and doing an internship while she was done with school and was just working a normal job. Other factors were somewhat minor. We lived together most of the relationship and liked each other for years before going out. At first I would email her every few days to try to get communication and I would get no response at all. After about a month and a half, she came to my graduation only to disappear again. I made the mistake of sending her flowers at work and emailing her a couple of time... 22 Aug 08, 02:08:46
Edinburgh: how do I really end a relationship with an old boyfriend when we work together so it's comfortable for all?
The problem is that because we work together there is no avoiding each other and I still have feelings for this guy. He knows that and I feel like he uses that when he needs to feel good about himself. Unfortunately neither of us will be getting a new job so avoiding him is difficult. I'm a smart lady and yet somehow let my emotions take over when I should ignore him. I've ended it several times with him coming back begging my friendship and acting like he has changed when in the end he hurts me again. Any advice on how to be stronger?? It seems like a silly question from a smart person but the reality is that no simple answer like, just ignore him, has worked.... 22 Aug 08, 02:08:19

Edinburgh: What kind of dog would be best for me? Border Collie, Lab, Mix, Other?
I've wanted a dog for as long as I can remember, but with my mother working full-time and me being at school/college/university we've never really been in a position to give a dog the level of attention and care we feel would be needed. Some things have now changed though, and for the first time I think getting a dog is a viable possibility.
We're agreed that a large dog (St. Bernard, Great Dane etc.) is out of the question, and it would have to be highly intelligent/obedient with training, and active/playful (I have no interest in a toy dog; to me dogs should be faithful companions in a mutually reciprocal relationship, not a showpiece, a fashion accessory or s... 22 Aug 08, 02:08:53
