Edinburgh: Is this a good letter for a two weeks notice?
(i'm doing this for my boyfriend, he is moving up to Michigan to live with me and has to quit his job because they do not have any restaurants in the area where we are living, the closest is in Oklahoma)
I would like to inform you that due to outside circumstances, I am announcing my resignation. It will be effective two weeks from the date. (So his last day of work will be December 19, 2008)
I would like to thank you for the training and opportunities that you have provided me with during my employment.
If I can be of any assistance during this time, please let me know.
Sincerely,
blah yadda doo do.
Does this sound okay or should he mention that he is movi... 05 Dec 08, 03:12:47
Edinburgh: When applying for a job, which race should I say I am?
I am always job searching and I am in the middle of an application right now. After I finished the application, there was an optional equal opportunity employment application.
I am just about everything, race-wise. There is a section where I can say I am hispanic, which I am. But if I check that box, I cannot say I am anything else, which is bogus. There is a box that says two or more races, which I am, but that's only if your not Hispanic at all.
So, my question to you is, which race are they hiring more of? Since I am a little bit of everything, I have no problem saying I am one thing over the other.... 05 Dec 08, 03:12:43
Edinburgh: Do part-time employees at Disneyland receive medical benefits?
I currently work at UPS. They provide medical benefits for part-time employees. But I can't handle the work anymore so I am seeking employment elsewhere that also has part-time medical benefits. I want to know if Disneyland does or perhaps anywhere else. Thanks!... 05 Dec 08, 03:12:45
Edinburgh: Should my fiance quit his job?
We just got engaged 3 months ago. Right after we got engaged he got laid off from his job of 4 years! So he got a night job a week later to make ends meet. I hate that he works nights because we never see each other anymore between my working schedule and his. He has looked for other employment but NOBODY is hiring with the way this economy is. He has looked almost everyday since he started this night job. He has told me that he would quit this job because it makes me unhappy but I tell him don't do it, that way we still have money coming in (we are saving for a house). We never would argue, but now we do. Is bringing the extra money in worth destroying my relationship? and pot... 05 Dec 08, 03:12:44
Edinburgh: Should I stay or should I go?
So about a month ago, I moved from Panama City, FL to Edison, NJ. My sister and I moved because my sister wanted to be with her boyfriend who has his own place. Due to family complications, we can't move in with him. I am currently staying at a Days Inn with my sister.
New Jersey is crowded and the highways and interstates can be a headache. NYC is pretty cool but it didn't really awe and inspire me.
I was actually pretty underwhelmed overall. I wanted to move to Vancouver, WA instead.
What my question is:
After finding a job that I actually enjoyed and a somewhat steady pay, a week or 2 later I got fired for no good reason (American Apparel's at will employment.) I... 05 Dec 08, 03:12:22
Edinburgh: Need Spiritual intructions on how to get through this ailing economy.?
I got accepted to college....Hooray! but this morning I recieved a very dissapointing call from my Financial Aide officer...I'm unable to receive financial aide because I've defaulted, very recently on my previous student loans from Brooks College! I've been unemployed since March 2005 thats over 3 years of zero income. Desperately seeking employment during and even before this sour economy, I don't know what else to do. I have no idea where to start. Luckily my mom has helped but she is widowed with 5 children with limited income and resources.
I need some unconventional wisdom...any ideas?...should I set up a meeting with my loan officer? Should I channel an ascend... 05 Dec 08, 02:12:30
Edinburgh: Insurance options for college student?
I'm going to turn 23 next year and be kicked off of my parent's insurance policy. I will be graduating in May. My school offers a really bad insurance policy, however, I would like a little more coverage. Hopefully, I'll be able to obtain full time employment in June or July (I'm a nursing major so pretty much guaranteed a job). Any suggestions for what to do in the meantime? Thanks!... 05 Dec 08, 02:12:37

I just moved to Santa Cruz, im having extremely hard time making friends, got rejected from joining the navy, my mom yells at me everyday and makes me feel like shit. I also have a shit job because theres no employment in the area so theres no way i can make enough to rent an apartment.
