im 23 years old. getting ready to leave the marine corps and get another government job which requires me to have good vision.

well for a couple of months i was researching about visian icl.

Anyway, I got a project from a company. They had no money but promised me a cut of the revenues. I signed a standard confidentiality agreement, which is the only thing that I signed. I did not sign a work-for-hire agreement. The confidentiality agreement includes the following except:
it will return all written Confidential and Proprietary Information received from the disclosing party and any documents or materials which discuss, incorporate or reference such Confidential and Proprietary Information upon the disclosing party's request to do so.

Edinburgh: Life advice from Experienced programmers sought?
Apologies in advance for being long winded but as background I have a Masters Degree from a leading university (LSE fwiw) and was a national champion athlete during undergrad. My first job was with an investment bank for which I sold $7M in investments only to see the business collapse a year later with 95% in net losses. While was not charged or involved with any malfeasance, as a result I am essentially banned from working in the Investment Industry.

Edinburgh: can an employer change your working hours without consulting you first?
I have been at my present job for nearly 1 year. I am contracted to work 35 hours a week. Since I started I have been working 3 12hour shifts per week. The same as all the other full time staff. The management have brought out a new shift system. I have now got to work a new shift pattern that does not suit my need. None of the staff were consulted over the shifts changing and we've only been give 2 weeks notice. Is there anything we can do?

Edinburgh: Child casket briefcase problem at work?
This guy at work I share a cubicle with made a comment about my briefcase saying it was too big and it looked like a child's casket. I was totally disgusted by vulgar comment and consulted our HR consultant over the problem but he thought it was funny and it spread it around the office. Now everyone makes fun of me and makes vulgar comments about my briefcase.
What should I do? I hate being harassed.
Should I just buy a new briefcase?
Should I quit my job?...

Edinburgh: What to say when asked why i was fired?
My question is when filling out online applications, etc. do I check the box asking if i've been fired and what do I say I was/ wasn't fired for? When being interviewed or applying how do I word it so that it doesn't seem like a negative thing because I don't feel I did anything wrong?

I worked a job from October to February although it was not to be a seasonal job. My boss said I have to LET YOU GO . He never said the word FIRED.
