Edinburgh: DOCTOR, LAWYER, or BUSINESS OWNER?
I know it's a lot but i need some advice!!! :) So, I'll be graduating from university with an undergrad degree in Business Administration in May 09 and I'm having a HUGE dilemma because I don't know what to do with the rest of my life!!! The thing is, I know my strength and weaknesses and what I want out of life but I need some advice from people who actually know what it's like to be involved in these careers. My GPA is good If I go into medicine (OB/GYN) i would want to open my own natural birthing center. I don't know what I would do if I went into Law as I don't know much about it. Business Owner-maybe open a daycare but i don't know...

Edinburgh: I am thinking about joining the Army, and am looking for any advice from current, former, or hopeful soldiers?
I am brought to a moment in my life where the path for a career needs to be decided upon. I am 18 going on 19 and have always had a strong affinity for the Army and CIA. When I was young, I always believed that I would grow up and become a soldier and then a spy (haha). Now as I approach the age to make the decision, more details come into play and I am given a more mature look at the situation. I hope to have a loving family, and would be thrilled to hear from Army wives about their experiences(pros and cons). My goal is to join the ranks of Special Forces (and hopefully Delta). After, I am planning on joining the CIA for their Special Activities Division. The motives behind my decision are...

Edinburgh: Help from Muslimas/Muslims ONLY please?
I know you guys get asked questions about Hijab and Islam every day. ;) I am Christian (have been my entire life), but have been very drawn to Islam for quite some time now. For reasons that I won't debate here, I am beginning to feel that *if* (and only if) there is only one true faith , Islam would be that faith. Right now, my goal is to simply learn about Islam. There is much misinformation and propaganda out there. Perhaps my questions are silly, but they are honest! Please help me answer the following: 1.) I am scared to wear the full hajab (headscarf). I know that most (but not all) agree that it's required, but I'm scared. Do people attack you? Make...

Edinburgh: Where would be the best place to go to specialize in Close Quarters Combat in the USMC?
I'm already enlisted in the Corps. in the Delayed Entry Program. My current reserved MOS is Infantry, with plans to try out for Security Forces or Recon. I know both use SWAT tactics, but where would I go if I wanted to utilize SWAT tactics the most? If you couldn't tell, this is quite possibly where I would go when I get out (or make a career in the MOS). Any advice?...

Edinburgh: Was Frank Davis Obama's mentor?
Obama’s Communist Mentor AIM Column | By Cliff Kincaid | February 18, 2008 Is “coalition politics” at work in Obama’s rise to power? In his biography of Barack Obama, David Mendell writes about Obama's life as a secret smoker and how he went to great lengths to conceal the habit. But what about Obama's secret political life? It turns out that Obama's childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a communist. In his books, Obama admits attending socialist conferences and coming into contact with Marxist literature. But he ridicules the charge of being a hard-core academic Marxist, which was made by his co...

Edinburgh: Can you give me some advice on finding a job?
I'm graduating in two months with a BA (Interdisciplinary:Pre-Health) with a decent GPA, but not a great one. I have no clue what I want to do. Is it a good idea to sign on with a temp agency or call center kind of job, or should I try to find a professional career job right away, while uncertain about my direction?...

Edinburgh: need help for career change?
I am trying to switch careers from sales to accounting/finance. While my resume is full of predominantely-sales jobs, those jobs also had a lot of accounting/finance aspects to it, which I'm trying to emphasize on my resume. Therefore, I have SEVEN years of accounting experience in addition to TWO years of financial analysis experience. I also have 10 months of volunteer experience doing nothing but finance. Plus, I have an MBA in finance. Yet, I'm still working part-time in one of those predominantely-sales jobs AND part-time at that volunteer position while looking for a full-time accounting/finance job. But all I get are calls for sales/customer service jobs. Even many re...

Edinburgh: Please help me choose the right career?
I have asked this before but im gonna elaborate. i cant decide to major in wildlife sciences to become a wildlife biologist or major in zoology and become a zoologist. Okay, what I want to do is to work with animals of course. I like exotic breeds like tigers, elephants, etc. I am really concerned with captivity (like the stress of it and mental deterioration), tiger trafficking or any animal trafficking for that matter, conservation of endangered species. I am very set in my ways and dont agree with animal testing for many things and I am a vegetarian (just some background on me). Sorry this is so long but what should I do? I dont know where I want to work although I do like zo...

Edinburgh: In need of advice from nurses or people of the sort, about postsecondary and career?
For my entire life, I have not known what I want to go to school for. I'm currently enrolled in my first year of community college, taking general university courses. Last night, I was surfing the net for options, and I came across nursing (registered, scrub, etc). When i came across it, I was absolutely sure that was what I want to do. This morning, I'm second-guessing myself. I don't know if I could handle it. So, nurses, how did you find school. Was the program difficult to get into? did you enjoy the courses? what kind of courses did you take, like did you have to take math's and chemistry and stuff? if so, do you use that stuff you learned day to day in your career? ...

Edinburgh: Had my son in June..now pregnant with the 2nd, and Im only 19!! What should I do?
First of all, I don't want any rude comments, just advice. Thank You. Okay so I just had my son on 6-13-08 and just found out that I am pregnant again about a week ago. I know that I only have myself to blame, but I just have no idea wht I am going to do, my boyfriend and I have been having problems lately and we are stressing enough with just the one baby, I can only imagine how much harder it is going to be with 2 babies. I unfortunatly want to terminate the pregnancy, only because I feel that we both need to go back to school, get degrees, and get a good careers to better provide for our son that is already here. We have many communication and other issues as it is right now and I...
