News Articles on Armed Forces Job in Edinburgh
Edinburgh: The WAR in Iraq and our people?
I hate to see any of our men and women in the armed forces killed, but when someone signs up to serve our country what do people think the job is? When you sign up shouldn't you expect that if we go to WAR that you might have to go and you might be killed? People say this is a meaningless WAR, but what WAR would be worthy of American Soldiers being killed? People are still enlisting everyday knowing the risks. We don't need loudmouth people screaming, it was their decision. Respect it.
Unless you grew up w/o a TV, you know, or should know, what's going on in Iraq. Don't assume b/c a person is 18 they're naive or stupid. What an insult to our young service people.... 06 Sep 08, 02:09:19
Edinburgh: Why did Palin ridicule Obama's community service when McCain said this: (read details)?
Sarah Palin made light of Obama's work as a community organizer where he helped people who had been laid off figure out how to get a new job. This was work he did after graduating from Columbia University instead of going after what would have been a lucrative career on Wall Street.
Last night, it sounded like John McCain was telling people they should do this sort of thing:
If you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you're disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. Enlist in our armed forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an illiterate adult to read.... 05 Sep 08, 05:09:11
Edinburgh: Any professions other than tube drivers where you might indirectly become an active part in a suicide?
Can you think of any jobs where during the course of your nine to five, you might end up killing someone - I'm not thinking about the police/armed forces, more jobs where it is a side-effect of what you do.
Thanks

The photo album was old, worn, and torn, but it didn’t stop me from looking at pictures of my falling apart family. I opened the front cover, only to meet the eyes of my long lost mother. Her hair was cherry red, her eyes were grassy green and her face was full of color and life. My father did say I looked like her, but she’s prettier than I am. The photo underneath was of her pregnant with me and my twin brother Adrian; standing underneath a willow tree,... 02 Sep 08, 10:09:37
Edinburgh: Should I join the Armed Forces or keep looking for a job, I have a college degree?
I was thinking about the Air Force, Army or Coast Guard. I have a college degree from a great university, but can't find a decent job. My current one is in precarious danger, my current boss is going to get his business shut down and I feel I can do nothing to stop it. I have managerial experience. I want to become an officer, but perhaps I'll start with being enlisted.
Is that a good plan? I'm 26 and have a degree in history from UMich.... 02 Sep 08, 08:09:11
Edinburgh: About the US National Guard...?
I'm 17 years old and I've been receiving letters in the mail about college offers, Join the Army, Navy, Marines, etc... but I got a letter about the National Guard . I've only heard of them in my history book 3 years ago.
Is their job to protect America at home and from what kinds of threats? I might be thinking of joining them, but it's defiantly part of the Armed Forces so I'm afraid they might ship me overseas?
I was also thinking that after I graduated college, I could still join the Guard and maintain my profession. I don't think it'll work out but any thoughts?... 31 Aug 08, 04:08:00
Edinburgh: Should I go for a job as a combat medical technician? ?
I am interested in pursuing a medical career in the armed forces, and was looking at a few army jobs involving medical stuff, and a combat medical technician seemed to appeal to me, for starters, there's the kind of being out there action, (or so it says) and second, no qualifications are needed, this sounds too good to be true, and the fact that no qualifications are needed made me think a little, is it really all its cracked up to be? if anyone has experience or knowledge on job I would greatly appreciate it if you could answer. thanks x... 30 Aug 08, 09:08:11
