Dover: Do I qualify for some kind of hospital desk job?
I'm in my fourth year of college and I have many classes under my belt, but I don't know how to go about qualifying for a half decent paying desk job at a hospital. I would love to qualify for a unit clerk. I have taken up to English comp. 2, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2, Safety & First Aid, Exercise Physiology, Basic Nutrition, Human Development Psych, Speech, and other classes that aren't related to this field. I also know my way around a computer pretty well, but I don't know how to go about setting up a resume with my classes and if I am out of my league for a desk job at a hospital. I need help please, I'm going to school for nur... 08 Jan 09, 11:01:47
Dover: Could I be pregnant ?
I last had my period on approx. Nov. 15 and have not had it since. My husband and I are not really trying but would be glad if we did conceive. I was told about 4 years ago about having HPV but the kind that would clear up on its own. We have been having sex regularly for the last 3 years without contraceptives. I was sick with stomach cramps and diarrhea New Years Eve but I think it was the stomach flu because everyone around me had it. I have no other symptoms other than no period. I took an at home test 2 days ago and it was negative(not even a faint line.) I will admit that I smoke about 10 cigarettes a day and my husband and I smoke marijuana daily(I'm an adult I don't need yo... 08 Jan 09, 10:01:09
Dover: Unemployment? Which state & how much?
Ok, my Grandma (NOT an old lady, lol. She is very active, so don't think of an old lady in a walker who shouldn't be working) anyway, she got fired from her job today due to the economy. She worked there for several years and made good money. She was in Sales for Medical Devices. Well, she got laid off today and is now in panic mode because she doesn't know how she is going to pay her bills. Well, she is considering filing for unemployment for a short time until she can find another job. Questions are...She lives in Florida. Her business was based out of California. So would she file for Florida Unemployment? Or would it be through California where her job is? 2nd, S... 08 Jan 09, 10:01:13
Dover: Dental School vs. Medical School vs. Optometry School.?
Hey, im currently a high school senior. I've been thinking about what i wanted to be, and i've decided to go into healthcare.
I was wondering, out of the 3 major schools (Medical, Dental, Optoemtry), Which was the most expensive? Which was the cheapest.
Also. I'm curious about the corresponding jobs (General Dentist vs. Ophthalmologist(for the sake of argument) vs. Optometrist). Which one pays the most? Which one pays the least? Which one works the best hours, etc. etc.
Any cool links, or anything you may have is very welcome, and definetely very appreciated.... 08 Jan 09, 10:01:13
Dover: I have been out of work since 2006 for a medical reason. I am now ready to return to work. A recruiter told me?
that I should list a 2006 to present on my resume as a sabbatical leave or leave for medical reasons. I always put that in the cover letter. Is it now appropriate to list a leave of absence just like any other job?... 08 Jan 09, 10:01:42

Dover: What do I do? Am I eligible? ?
I was off of work for 2 weeks, under a doctors care and then I received a voice mail that my job was eliminated ? I kept in contact with the company the entire time to let them know what was going on. The HR said it was ok to take a medical leave but it would be unpaid.
I checked my voice mail messages this morning and I had one from the HR department that said *my position* has been eliminated and I did not need to show up for work as the HR director and the Marketing director was going to take a different approach (followed by a certified letter) stating the same information. What do I do? Am I eligible for Unemployment?... 08 Jan 09, 09:01:14

Dover: Should Michigan revive economy replacing auto manufacturing with knowledge-based like medical and high tech?
I don't think our auto companies and UAW workers can compete successfully in the global economy. The workers need to go to night school or become better educated in some way, so that they have the education and skills to attract knowledge-based businesses to Michigan. Unskilled or low-skilled manufacturing jobs can no longer provide a middle-class standard of living for large numbers of people.... 08 Jan 09, 08:01:14
Dover: Is SSI Or SSD Always Based On Prior Income? (& Will I Qualify?)?
First & Most Important Question: How do they figure out what you get a month for SSI or SSD? I'm 41 but have never made more than say $12,000 a year.
I heard that it might be based on how much you made in the last five years. If that's the case then it's even worse, because I haven't worked in almost two years and the prior three I made maybe $8,000 per year.
In other words, if that's the system then I guess I'm screwed and destined to be homeless. Or, is there at least a bare minimum they start you off at for people who only had very low income or a short work history? Meaning, do you get at least something like $700 or $800 a month regardless of how... 08 Jan 09, 08:01:18
