Dover: Why is it so hard finding a job in today's economic crisis?
On Monday it will be the one month mark since I got laid off from my part time job at a daycare center. Ever since I was laid off it's been hard finding a job. It seems like when ever I would look for a part time job there weren't many posted, they were looking for certain criteria that I didn't qualify for.......and I don't have that much work experience outside of working with children.
I have applied to a couple of jobs and no call backs yet. It's getting really frustrating for someone who is 18 and not yet in college....I feel like a bum. Am I doing something wrong....what should I be doing to actually get a job? Is anyone else experiencing a smiliar problem?... 08 Jan 09, 09:01:39
Dover: inbound sales call center, easier sales job?
I am working at an out bound call center and its very hard, as a floor 0% make quota and making .05% quota is considered good. The base salary is good and I have a chance of keeping my job for a few more months.
The job I am thinking about is an in sales call center where people call you all day long for insurance. Its a warm lead.
Are in bound call centers easier than outbound call centers?... 08 Jan 09, 07:01:14
Dover: what is the best way to become a child care (pre-k) professional?
I've been babysitting for a really long time. More than 10 years. I was recently working at a preschool taking care of infants. I was doing a great job, but with the economy the way that it is right now in the U.S. I was laid off.
I really miss it and have only been able to find really horrible paying jobs at very low respecting places.
I realize that times are tough right now and I'm only 22, but like everyone else, I have to make a living and survive as well.
So, I'm looking for some type of job in child care. Whether its babysitting or in an actual day care or preschool center.
How would I go about making myself known, or look better than any other applicants who ma... 08 Jan 09, 06:01:32
Dover: Did the Jew's steal Palestine?
Much of the world buys the line -- peddled by the Palestinians and the Arab Muslim world and, indeed, many Western countries -- that paints Israel as the bad Goliath that stole the land from the Palestinians.
Israel gave Gaza self-rule in 1994, unilaterally withdrawing the last of its citizens and soldiers from Gaza in 2005. Hamas, voted into power via free elections in 2006, fought and defeated their political and military rival, Fatah, to seize de facto control of Gaza in 2007. In the past eight years, Hamas has fired more than 10,000 rockets and mortars into Israel -- 7,000 of them after Israel's 2005 withdrawal. With improved technology -- repor... 08 Jan 09, 04:01:26
Dover: Why do women think men are suppose to be mind readers?
My girlfriend posted this question today and from the responses not many other women agreed with her.
This was the text of her question.
Who else lives with a man that acts like you dont exist? I have been home sick for two days now and I am literally taking care of myself. He hasn't offered to buy me soup, ask me if I'm ok....nothing. Does anyone else have this problem? He says he cares but I just don't believe that. It's like he is too caught up in his own agenda to worry about anyone else. He's job searching but he could at least ask if I'm ok. Im coughing, having chills, took myself to the doctor. Not that I wanted him to take me to the doctor bu... 08 Jan 09, 04:01:37
Dover: Anyone have information on working for Waste Management in Rochester, NY- the Call Center?
I found a job posted for a customer service supervisor and I'm interested in this type of position, but I don't know much about the company besides the obvious. Does anyone work here or have any advice? I have a job currently, but because we were bought by another company we recently had to be demoted. I kept my pay and benefits but I'd like to advance and am looking to do so at another company. Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks.... 08 Jan 09, 03:01:25
Dover: Problem at work, please help?
So heres the deal, I work at sylvan learning center, I'm a test administrator. I applied for the job because it was on weekdays only, and I would only have to work until about 2, which is what I wanted because my husband doesn't work weekends and gets off around 3. My boss asked me if I could be a substitute for a afterschool program that sylvan does, and I asked her what days and all that jazz, and she said they would only need me maybe like a day a month, when someone was sick or something and there was absolutely no one else to do it. So I agreed to do it. I told her I couldn't really work late but if it would only be a few times then I could do it. Fine, great, whatever. S... 08 Jan 09, 03:01:27

Dover: Is this true? No matter how you act or behave you don't have to change?
The real problem isn't you at all. It isn't your hair, your weight, your job, your hobbies, your accent, your family, or your perfume. It isn't that you're too choosy, cautious, or combative. It isn't that you're too shy or too social, too spoiled or too stingy, too career-minded or too marriage-minded. Somewhere, there is a guy for you . . . actually, many guys. But all you need is one. And he'll fall in love with you as you are. To him you'll be perfectly lovable....
i just read this article and I am even more confused...I am not implying anyone should change their hair or the way they dress..but according to this doctor even if you are selfish, s... 08 Jan 09, 08:01:01
