Dover: Do I have the right to question what my boyfriend's doing with his future and making poor choices?
I'm 24 years old, in nursing school and I still live with my parents. I've been dating my current boyfriend for more than 8 months and he's a year older than me and still lives at home with his father. I had met him in my nursing program but he dropped out, in hopes to switch to the RPN program and graduate earlier. It never happened because someone had to drop out in order for him to get a seat. So, he's been working at his job looking after handicap people in a home 36 hours a week and makes half decent money. We get along really well, and I like him very much. My parents like him as well, which makes it easier. My problems is, my boyfriend talks a lot about things...

Dover: The right way to say I'm moving out. ?
I'll be 18 this month and I'm graduating high school in May. After graduation, I want to move out on my own. I know it's not going to be easy/buckets of fun at first. I have money saved. I already have a place picked out, I'm going to take a gap year to get money for college, and of course I'll have a job. I know people where I'm moving. I'm moving to be closer to my boyfriend of 2 years after almost a year of being in a long distance relationship. However, they think that I'm going to follow them when they move to Hicktown, USA this summer and go to school there. I would be rent-free, but absolutely miserable there. Unfamiliar place, no friends, ...

Dover: School activities!!?!?!??!?
Since freshman year, I have always wanted to join a school activity (which usually costs money) but due to my family's lack of money, I was restricted from doing anything. It discouraged me to do any activities at school because my parents were strict about doing academics and discouraged me from doing any activities for years. Now it is my senior year and I want to be involved in the school, but I feel like it is too late. I have always felt like I should have met a lot more people and became good friends with them and have a lot of fun while I'm at it, but it just didn't happen. Nowadays, I just to homework and sit around my house all day, and I can't even get a job...

Dover: Since the minimum wage went up in Washington, shouldn't I get paid more?
So on january first the minimum wage in Washington state jumped up to $8.55/hour, before it was $8.07 and I was getting paid $8.50. However, my bos has not mentioned a raise in my pay at all to me and I am a little nervous to talk to her about it. I don't think it should just go to 8.55 because that means she only thinks I am worth minimum wage and I was getting paid more than minimum wage before. Also I am in college and have as much work experience as another girl who works there that didn't even graduate from high school and she already got paid $8.95/hour. Am I right about this? Should I get paid 43 cents above minimum wage because that's what I was getting paid before or ...

Dover: Im a highschooler who wants to persure a career in 2D animation. I need advice from a 2D Animator!?
First, Id like to inform you a little about myself. I've been drawing for a while now and I think I've developed some pretty good drawing skills considering Im only 16. My line of work is just sketches and more sketches of people and anatomical figures. I get creative with my drawings and a lot of my 'finished work' goes along the lines of illustration that I do on the computer with my tablet. Im awful at traditional painting, but Im quite confident in my drawing skills when it comes to drawing from life. Especially the human figure! But I work with the human figure blind more often than I do from life. I look to Jack Hamm's 'Drawing The Head and Figure&#...

Dover: Math major with a low gpa, can I still get a job?
My gpa is 2.6..I'll be graduating this spring and I don't know how the whole searching for a job is going to turn out...I'm a really bright person but I tend to suffer from depression which I've now gotten under control, but not before it ruined my grades. I'm not using it as an excuse since I wouldn't bring this up at an interview anyway....Just wondering do I still have a shot,...

Dover: How can i accumulate experience to work in the Career Services Dept. at a University?
I am currently working on my Bachelor's in Human Resource Management, and would love to work in the Career Services Dept. at a school. I currently work full time in an accounting dept. at a University, and constantly see students graduate with degrees and not utilize them. I already have my foot in the door by working at a University, so I do not want to quit my job. What kind of experience should I try to accumulate? Thank You!...

Dover: Is there a term I can use on resumes that means that I almost , but didn't quite, get a minor in college...?
...in other words, while I was in college, I took alot of French language classes (all of the classes that were language requirements (3), plus intermediate grammar, intermediate oral, and a history class). I was only two classes off from being able to get a full French minor, but I wanted to graduate on-time (in 4 years), so I didn't. Anyway, after college, I participated in a year-long assistantship in Paris, France where I taught oral English in a French high-school. Now, I am back home and trying to find a job/further education in the French language field. As such, I am sending out resumes and cover letters, and I am wondering if there is a term I can use (a legitimate re...
