Dover: Resume? Please help me.?
I have been nominated for Girls State*
I need to create a resume. My instructions are students should prepare a brief overview of activities and employment, awards and recognitions
I am a highschool junior, never had a job, and want to mention my difficult classes.
How should I format my resume? I've never made one before, so it would be nice if a link to an example was provided.
Thanks in advance!
*Girls State is a event in which there is one representative from each highschool. They stay in a college dorm for a week and form a mock state, each floor is a city and they elect a mayor, create a budget, and learn about the legislative process. There are 6 nomine... 08 Jan 09, 11:01:49
Dover: Job application -can i omit employment history?
Hi im 19 yrs old and have been looking for a job for the past 8 months and no luck! I've only had one other job in high school at a dollar store when i was 17 and i only worked there for 4 months (this was my 1st & only job). Like i said i was in h.s. so i didn't really care much about n e thing but hanging out with friends. The last month i worked there i missed about 3-4weeks w/o calling in to inform them i wasn't going to make it to work. And when i finally did call, i called to quit. So my question is can i omit this job on applications?? i've always included it in all my applications so now i'm thinking the places i've been applying to call ... 08 Jan 09, 11:01:42
Dover: Questions for EMT/Paramedics, I need advice?
I am a certified EMT-B and I have an opportunity for employment with the major hospital in my area, I know this will be a great opportunity for me, but I'm kind of nervous because I don't know if I can handle some of the gross stuff, I'm probably just over thinking it, I was fine with it in EMT training, but how do you handle it? Does it just become second nature with experience? How do you handle the pressure of the job?
I rode along in an ambulance and did the ER thing, but what I'm saying is I don't know if i could handle it every day, what I mean is, do you get used to the pressure and things like that of the job with experience?... 08 Jan 09, 09:01:59
Dover: Should i become a Dental Assistant or a Certified Nursing Assistant?
I am 27 years old and i still live at home with my parents. I have been out of work now for a 1 1/2 now. Unfornately, my job let go alot of employees because they were downsizing. I really want to become a dental assistant, but i am afraid if i go back to school for this for a whole year, i'll finish and won't be able to find employment anywhere, because dentist offices won't feel that i have enough experience just coming right out of school. I
I don't want to waste a whole year going to school for this and then no one whats to give me a job afterwards because i don't have experience. Whereas a cna program is only a few weeks long and cna's don't have a... 08 Jan 09, 09:01:56
Dover: Getting a job at 17 with no prior work experience in Long Beach, CA.?
I've seen a lot of this type of question, but most of them haven't been very helpful. When I turned 17 it hit me that I only had a year left of being a kid and it freaked me out a little bit. At that time (October) I decided that I should get as much job experience as possible before I turn 18, so that I could have the option of moving out and supporting myself if I needed too (which I would have to if I wasn't going to college). Well, I live in Long Beach, CA and surprise I wasn't magically hired within the first month of looking. It's January now, and almost every single place I go tells me that they're not planning on hiring for a while (since the... 08 Jan 09, 08:01:03

Dover: Does anyone have a template letter to a Landlord from an employer to terminate a lease early?
We are moving due to an employment transfer for my husband and myself. My husband has a letter from his company, but I have to draft the letter myself for my boss to sign. I don't know how to word the letter, and I was wondering if anyone had a template? Also, I'd like to write a letter on behalf of both my husband and I to our Landlord citing that section 28 of our lease states that in the event of a Tenant(s) job transfer a letter of employment is required 60 days written notice. Any help would be much appreciated!
Ok now I have the letter from us to our landlord, but can anyone help write the letter that my boss should sign? I don't want there to be any questions from t... 08 Jan 09, 07:01:06
Dover: Should every business that is not run by an individual have an automated telephone answering machine system?
I called up a business and there is not any reason in the world why they do not have an automated answering system. For job opportunities, press 1, for business hours and locations press 2, etc.
I called this big business up and there was not any automated phone system. The guy on the phone provided me with complete, idiotic, misinformation. I should of asked to talk to the boss because he should of been disciplined.Oh well.
I called a big business up and the wrong person answered the phone. I asked the person on the phone about employment and he said the american economy is not good right now. Obviously he was not qualified to answer the question and he should... 08 Jan 09, 05:01:13
