Hi
I'm moving from the UK to Europe for 6 months to look for work.
However, when I return, I may need to claim Job Seekers Allowance whilst looking for a job back in the UK, but will I be entitled to it if I've registered as a resident in another country?
thanks... 09 Jan 09, 01:01:52
Doncaster: Will I be able to apply for the income based job seekers allowance?
Okay ... so I was born in New Zealand but have English parents ... so I have two passports. I've lived in the UK for two years and have worked one job. I've been living with relatives and looking for work ... I've been getting interviews but no job.
Now my problem is that I have £90 left to my name and no job in site. Can I apply for the income based job seekers allowance as I won't have enough contributions?
Thanks Abhard6

Doncaster: Help needed with my daughter. Where can I get it?
She's 21 and lives with me and if she didn;t she'd be living in a cardboard box out on the street. She dropped out of university last year mainly becasue she couldn't be bothered to get out of bed to go to lectures.
She spends all day in bed in her room. She'll get up when I get home if I nag her and she'll take the dog a walk then she'll slouch on the sofa all night swilling beer and watching TV. She has no friends. She spends all her spare time on the internet. She doesn't shower until she really stinks and she eats nothing but crap. If I try to talk to her she's condescending and argumentative, like she is with everyone else. She was claiming Jo... 06 Jan 09, 08:01:00
Doncaster: (uk answers) another question regarding my sister and benefit fraud?
Thanks everyone for your great answers before but I just found out from my sister that she don't think she applied for housing benefit so my question now is:
1) if you stop signing on for job-seekers allowance and receive housing benefit will the housing benefit automatically stop?
2) If you didn't notify the council that you are working but later do what proof will they want to see with regards to your job? My sister has been working for 2 years and didn't notify the council she said shes certain she didn't apply for housing benefit. Can she get away with telling the council that she only has been working for 3 months rather than 2 years?
please advice

Doncaster: (uk answers) please advice, my sister and benefit fraud?
Ok my sister used to get job-seekers allowance, but 2 years ago she got a job, no-one at home notified the council that she got a job and I think the housing benefit/tax are still paying her rent. I always argued with my sister about this, finally it came to her sense and she agreed to pay rent.
What can she do?????????? If she tell the council will she get done for fraud? She said she will pay back! Or if she just tells the council that she just started work a 3 months ago will they find out?
Can she write to the council letting them now that she is working now and then notify housing benefit? (she is on low income, works part time and gets 5000 a year) Will they believe that if she ... 06 Jan 09, 02:01:39
