Derby: Is this normal to give up on pharmacy career? some advice..?
i been working in the pharmacy for 3 years as a tech. been going prepharm classes and was thinking of major in biology (but i hate biology, sure concepts are great but it is nothing but mundane pure memorization, no offense!) I feel like it makes me depressed and i been stuck in a pharmacy for too long and just need something that makes me happy. it's also a bitch to get accepted into pharmacy schools, why can't you just get a BS in pharmacy, they arleady stopped that, now you have to get a science related BS degree then apply to pharmacy school and spend 4 more years. why couldnt it just be a 4 year degree? then you have to pass the 2 state exams, i feel like this is bull shit an...

Derby: Math formula question?
Ok so here is how it goes.
Im trying to learn this for a new job I started. I work at a pawn shop and say someone comes in and they lost the pawn but its still in the store we can put it back in pawn for you. Say someone received 100 dollars and the finance fee is 25 dollars which they received two months before they defaulted so fifty dollars in finance charges. To put the item back in pawn they pay the two months they owe which is fifty dollars plus sales tax which is 7 % so then you would sell them the item or ring it up for the 50 dollars plus tax and tax on the sell itself and repawn it for 100 dollars again. Does this make sense or am I doing the formula all wrong?

It seems as if everybody wants to be a hiphoper now or something,shouldnt we start going back to more traditional black american genres like jazz,blues,funk rock ?I mean,whatever happened to learning how to play a certain instrument?
Dont get me wrong,i love hiphop(nas,talib,common,lupe fiasco,kanye west,a tribe called quest,etc etc,but too much of it sucks now days.Too much garbage.

Derby: What is my problem? I think it's perfectionism to an extreme?
My entire life I've had a gift to do anything I set my mind to, but the only problem is being able to put forth all my effort for an infinite amount of time to satisfy my desire to keep going. If I can't go through with all my effort, the task is not worth doing. After realizing I can't spend all the time I want on it, this usually ends up in me quitting and looking for something else. I have been doing this my whole life and have ended up nowhere, but wanting to be somewhere so desperately.

Hi.
I went through high school studying Japanese, playing first chair violin, taking all honors classes, got a 3.6, and got a 1400/1600 on the SATs.
Then I went half way across the country to a university i was barely familiar with (my parents both went there and had always said they wanted a kid to go there, im the youngest and none of my siblings went there so it was sorta up to me). I HATED it. I started off alright, I started to make some friends and joined some groups etc. My best friend died in a car crash back home and I couldn't even make it to the funeral because i was so far away. Derby: I can't seem to stand up to my spoiled, rude, mean roommate... help?
I'm in college, and live in an apartment that does individual leases and roommate matching. Well they didn't match me well. My roommate is a spoiled little girl who is 21, never had a job in her life, drives an Infinity G35 that daddy paid cash for, ect, ect.
She's SO mean to me.
She has a dog but won't let me get one. She claims to be allergic to LONG dog hair (her dog is a Chihuahua).
She constantly texted me cussing me out to the point that I blocked her number.
And what really set me off is the day after her 21st birthday I woke up and tripped over a bag of trash in my doorway. She told me later that she had a problem with me not taking it out as much as her.

Derby: Calling all Mechanical Engineers. Please Help!?
So, I'm a Junior in High School and I need help, please just straight talk with me. I'm one of the more bright, more mechanically inclined students in my school. Anywho, I would like to go to my community college to knock out my core basics, then transfer to Auburn to major in Mechanical Engineering. NOW, my mom says, You can choose pretty much ANY job with that degree! . But what I can't seem to figure out is, how can all of that math you learn in say... Calc. 4(I think is one of the required classes) can be applied to real world work? Can anybody with this degree specify what their occupation is and what your duties are in your work?...

TVNewser has learned NBC Universal will be cutting up to 500 jobs in a round of layoffs which are now underway at all levels of the company — television, film and parks. That amounts to about 3% of the workforce. An insider with knowledge of the situation says the cuts are expected to continue into next week.
The NBC News bureaus in Dallas and Los Angeles (Burbank) are already experiencing cuts, with the insider saying Dallas will experience more layoffs than in Burbank. Among those losing their jobs, NBC News correspondent Don Teague who has been with the network since 2002.
