Derby: I've applied at macy's tons of times!! why wont they hire me? I got really close one time.?
I was in the office after a group interview & I was one of 3 who went in ......... asked me questions about my last jobs and when I can work..... They said they will contact me later & they did by saying I'm not needed???? WTF!? I have lots of experience in guest service & retail No criminal record or anything bad on me...... What am I doing wrong? Why is it so hard for me to get a job there?
Should I keep applying? I applied a few weeks ago............ still no word. Is is because I can only work after 4pm and only part time?...

Derby: How long should I wait for Publix to call me back for an interview before I know that I didn't get the job?
I applied like 4 days ago and I'm getting anxious.. It's my first time applying for a job, but I don't know how long it should be before I know I didn't get it. Any advice/help? I might apply at WinnDixie if they don't contact me... even though Publix is WAY better....

Derby: How long does it take to hire interns?
I had three interviews for a position, (one over the phone and two in person) about two weeks ago. After the last interview, I was told they would let me know either way next week . They even introduced me to the HR manager who would be calling me to let me know the outcome.
The position is a full-time internship, and it's a very well known media company, so I imagine they are quite busy. However, the show that the company puts on goes on hiatus in Decemeber, so they might not be busy, too.
Is it possible that they haven't had a chance to discuss the interviews, or did I just not get the job? I am going crazy waiting because I have been dreaming of working for this...

Derby: I think I have social anxiety disorder?
I think ive had it since freshmen year. I only feel comfortable talking to three people and I usually only talk to them at school because outside of school I prefer to be by myself in my room. I HATE going shopping because there are WAY too many people. I hate giving presentations and when I have to give one i start shaking really badly, and I start to sweat and I keep on getting afraid I'm going to mess up (I have no idea how I'm going to present my senior project and without it I can't graduate) and I can't even get a job because I get nervous during interviews and they want to employ outgoing people. im having a group interview at the clothing store TILLYS tomarrow and im not sure what to expect. its my first job interview and im a bit nervous...i also am not sure on what to wear because the environment of the store is casual but im not sure of what for the interview...any suggestions!!!!??...

Derby: Black guys,should we start going back to more traditional genres of music?
It seems as if everybody wants to be a hiphoper now or something,shouldnt we start going back to more traditional black american genres like jazz,blues,funk rock ?I mean,whatever happened to learning how to play a certain instrument?
Dont get me wrong,i love hiphop(nas,talib,common,lupe fiasco,kanye west,a tribe called quest,etc etc,but too much of it sucks now days.Too much garbage.
The older jazz/blues/classic rock generation of ours is dying off and leaving all of the quality music behind them.It is important that we continue the tradition because i personally feel that its more culture than this new hiphop crap thats out today.We must do a better job at preserving our cultu...

Derby: I'm a senior in college, should I buy a car?
I just wanted some advice on whether I should buy a car or not. I'm a senior in college right now, so I'm just trying to buy something to get me to and from school as well as to and from job interviews (hopefully...lol). Right now I have about 8,000 bucks saved up and make about 400-600 per month at my part time job (I live at home...) so I was thinking maybe I should try to get a $4,000 car and and save the rest for emergencies just in case I need to pay for repairs or something? If so what kind of car would you recommend?...
