Derby: Do grades matter when you are applying for a job in the film/tv industry?
I have always heard that going to film school is not really a good idea, from people that I've worked with in the field. Needless to say I'm in film school now, but I was wondering how much effort should I put into making an A versus creating great quality content?... 05 Dec 08, 12:12:36
Derby: How can I become more articulate?
I've never been good at expressing myself well verbally. My first language is English. I was born and bred here but when I speak, I sometimes really stumble over my words and it gets very embarrassing when I'm trying to express my opinion but can't find the words to do so. You might expect that to be the case for a foreign speaker but isn't this a little strange for a native English speaker?
I also have very very poor concentration. I find it very hard to hold my attention whilst listening to people, however I find reading a lot easier. Even when I watch films I have to try very hard to concentrate because my mind often wanders.
I try to read every day for at least ... 04 Dec 08, 11:12:53

Derby: Professional makeup career help please!!!!?
Im a freshman in college. Like many people I am pretty undecided on what i want to do with my life as a career. I have always been more on the arty side rather than on the academic. Derby: Being White Washed or Ghetto/ What do people mean by this?
This is why black people are so hard on each other. Because get the terms White Washed and Ghetto confused. It's such a touchy subject that it's never clear what people mean.
White Washed - does not mean you being black speak proper, have a great educational background, make good money, and don't accept things that is perceived to be black culture that isn't black culture(I'll get to that).
Ghetto - is a term used to define a person's ignorance which is not demeaning where you are from but your character(Not all people in the ghetto are bad, I get that). When a person is called ghetto by some ne they think is White washed, they feel as though that perso... 04 Dec 08, 05:12:17
Derby: Tongue and Throat Problems?
I am a 23 year old male from the US and have had no previous problems with my mouth before now. Never had braces or even a cavity so all this is very strange to me. I have had my Wisdom Teeth removed but I still have my Tonsils so here is the story...
About 2 months ago I noticed a few taste buds near the back of my tongue had grown in size and began to hurt. These taste buds are located in the middle of my tongue right in front of the row of my Circumvallate papillae taste buds and are raised and very hard. At first I thought it might be due to allergies but after a visit to the Dr. I ruled that. I have also started to develop a light yellow film on top of my tongue that is hard to ... 04 Dec 08, 01:12:52
