I am having a tough time trying to figure out what to major in for my masters degree.
What would you consider to be the pros and cons of getting a major in

These two jobs are in high demand....teaching art with an out of state license is NOT........especially because I am not fluent in speaking spanish here in So. Cal

Derby: Good freelance web design sites?
I have been doing freelance web and graphic design for the past three years aside from my full time job. Most of my jobs have been found through word of mouth, businesses go to the college and, when I attended there, I was notified when a business needed a website and I would complete the task.
Now I have graduated, have my Graphic Design degree and Web design and authoring certificate, and my goal is to move into freelance work full time. I have an online portfolio website.
How can I achieve this? What are good websites where businesses can go to post jobs for freelance designers? How else can I get my name out there?... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:34

Derby: Recently laid off. Note that in the resume or cover letter?
Hi.
I was laid off yesterday and I don't have the best work history. I've only been at one job longer than 2 years (in last 6 years) and all others a year - give or take.
I was hired by a luxury office design company in July and have already been laid off (new territory they could live without - supposedly!). Should I make a note that I am seeking work because I was laid off?...5 months at a job looks lousy on a resume.
If I should let them know, how?
Thanks.... 20 Nov 08, 10:11:16
Derby: Salary for a graphic designer in The Netherlands?
I've recently moved to The Netherlands from Australia and have luckily scored a job interview with a design agency.
I've done a little research and based on my year of full time experience, plus another 2 years of freelance experience, would it be suitable for me to ask for about €1600 per month?
Any suggestions? Many thanks...... 20 Nov 08, 08:11:37

Derby: Is there, and where can I find, an auto paint simulator online?
I've recently purchased a 1976 Ford F-150 and it needs some restoring. One of the main things it needs, after some engine work of course, is a paint job. Is there anyway I can design and get a feel for different kinds of paint colors and designs without actually painting the truck?... 20 Nov 08, 06:11:57
