Derby: Would you take one year off work to study?
I am currently on job seekers allowance and have been offered an almost free AAT course (accountancy). It will take up to 1 year to finish it. I used to work as a Accounts Assistant but with no qualification or experience. It was more administration job than accounts. Would you take 1 year of work to study? Will it help me to find a better job in future. I am 33 by the way. thank you....

Derby: CTA qualification - Accountancy - Foreign students?
Hello everyone. I am an ACCA member and I am thinking of registering for the CTA qualification. I am just wondering how many foreign students do this qualification. English is not my first language and I don't know if I can pass the exams or whether I will struggle with the language. I have been looking for jobs for the last two months at home, and my partner is working full time in the bank as IT solution architect. We have been together for two years now.due to my visa status, its quite hard for me to find a decent job straight away and no banks takes me on before i get my permenant resident status. I'm currently a senior student and the NCAE (National Career Assessment Exam) is tomorrow. I really can't decide on what I'm gonna be or what course I'll take next year. So far, my interests are writing essays and compositions, blogging on the internet, History, photography, and entrepreneurship (since I've been playing those business video games). Derby: I'm 16 and am looking for a job...?
I want to be an accountant when i'm older and i was wondering if i could tell me whether i could get a job that could open any opportunities for me for the future, as im only 16 i dont know what i could do...theres a new accountancy center opening in town and im scared to go and ask if they would hire a 16 year old, do i need to take a course first and get qualified in accountancy?
