Darlington: Are there job opportunities for African Americans in Africa?
I feel bad even asking this question because I know many countries are facing unemployment issues due to the global economic crisis. I also know that there are many Africans that are highly educated with years of experience that I will be competing against.
That being said, I am a recent graduate...I graduated at the top of my class however I have been unable to find a good job as of yet. I would like to know would I have a good chance of finding employment in the African countries that are experiencing GDP growth? I just have a bachelors degree but I am very willing to learn and higly motivated. I would love to work in the field of international relations/trade and business.
Does anyo... 05 Dec 08, 04:12:02
Darlington: Christians: How do I get back to feeling myself again?
Well, I don't feel totally lost, but I just feel a little wierd. For the past several months, I have been looking for a job, and I finally got one a couple weeks ago (thank God). But when I was without a job, I was struggling financially (plus, I'm a college student too) and I stopped hanging with friends...well I really couldn't because I didn't have money. When I hung out with them ( 1st time in a long time) this past weekend, I felt wierd. While going through my hardship, I lost sight of who were my friends and who wasn't. Why is that? But also, over that time (and kinda now) it just felt like nothing was going right-I would chase after different opportunities, su... 05 Dec 08, 04:12:02
Darlington: Do you think it is fair that women fight for equal rights yet don't have to go to war?
No I know there are plenty of brave women in the force. But do you think it is fair that women can vote, are forced into jobs by equal opportunity employment yet cannot be drafted even if they aren't pregnant? Now I know men are physically stronger, but that doesn't stop women from being employed in the fire department, police and construction jobs due to equal opportunity. Any thoughts?
To dumb Amber- yes the last time the draft was used was a while ago, but it is not unlawful to draft again. This is why when men turn 18, they must enroll in the military's system. If you read the question carefully, you would have understood the question better rather than focusin... 05 Dec 08, 04:12:20

Darlington: Is this a good cover letter? ?
this is the body for my first draft:
Dear Sir,
I’m writing to you because I think that I would make an excellent addition to your membership sales staff in the Philadelphia location. I am new to the area and looking for a job opportunity that better fits my lifestyle and allows me to use my extensive sales background for something that I am passionate about. Although I have worked hard to achieve my current job title, I need to find work closer to my apartment.
I will be joining the U.S. Marine Corpse in july of next year and I take my own fitness very seriously. As a current member of ***** gym, I know that my positive attitude and bright personality will make a great addition to... 05 Dec 08, 04:12:40

I would like to thank you for the training and opportunities that you have provided me with during my employment.

Darlington: Help with frustrating job-hunt situation?
I go to small university in an equally small town. I've been looking for a job for a while, but there's no decent jobs for me here. I've been checking the local newspaper website and another classifieds web site for a while and nothing really has popped up. One okay job I applied to, Books-A-Million, got me no response. There's a mall (consisting of a disjointed Dillard's, Sears, and JCPenny) but I don't have retail experience and plus I know someone who worked at the Dillard's there and she said because it's small, competition for people's sales is a little tense. I've asked my friends if the places they work at are hiring but th... 05 Dec 08, 03:12:16
Darlington: When applying for a job, which race should I say I am?
I am always job searching and I am in the middle of an application right now. After I finished the application, there was an optional equal opportunity employment application.
I am just about everything, race-wise. There is a section where I can say I am hispanic, which I am. But if I check that box, I cannot say I am anything else, which is bogus. There is a box that says two or more races, which I am, but that's only if your not Hispanic at all.
So, my question to you is, which race are they hiring more of? Since I am a little bit of everything, I have no problem saying I am one thing over the other.... 05 Dec 08, 03:12:43
