Colchester: Are there any jobs left in mid-Michigan?

Colchester: working with autistic children and other behavioral problems?
I was offered a job today as a skills trainer/paraprofessional. I have a BS in Psychology, minor Biology. I no prior experience in anything related to my degree, just held jobs to pay tuition throughout school. I'm hesitant about working this job since it would be a challenge and very different. I like to help people and did work part-time in a daycare, but really don't know what I'd like to do for a job. It pays $10/hr in training (1 day) shadowing someone and $18/hr otherwise. Hours are not guaranteed, but usually 20-30 hours Monday through Friday, can be on call. Is it worth trying out since it would give my career a good start? They want me to have an open availability, so... 20 Nov 08, 05:11:19

I'm at my first IT Job, and I do all administrative stuff...I have full Administrator rights over everything. I do almost all the IT/Network support for a group of 6 medical clinics. Ive learned quite a bit in the 6 months Ive been there.
Ive doing night courses for over a year now. (once a week for 10-12 weeks) And sometimes 2 courses at a time. But ive got 6 really good courses under my belt.
Plus I am CompTIA A+ Certified.
I know people in my class, whom for sure know less than I do, who are starting at $17-$20/hr. I live in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. and I make a measley $13/hr.

Colchester: Should I stay or Should I leave him?
Alright I've been with my boyfriend for two years now, and it seems like the whole relationship has been nothing but pain for me. I've never cried so many tears in my life than with him. He's choked me, called me names, taken my money for drugs, called me in N word and makes me feel like s*** about myself if he doesn't get his way with me. Now we even have to go to court because he filed a false police report on me because we got into an agurement and he thought i was going to call the cops but he did instead and he told the police that i hit him with my car and now we have to go to court with me having to face 3 charges. And yes i'm still with him after that. Now he... 20 Nov 08, 03:11:27

Colchester: How do I quit my job?
I'm sixteen and I started a job as a server in the restaurant at a retirement home in September. It's my first job and I need to let my boss know that I plan to have this Sunday be my last day. Do I just tell him in person or right a note and slip it on his desk or what?

Colchester: HR People: U.S. work authorization question?
My OPT is currently pending and I'm looking for a job with consulting and research firms. Many of them ask if I am currently allowed to work. My answer is yes, since OPT has been approved and should be in soon.
My question is: is that really what they wanna know? or do they really mean: do you have an H-1, in which case the answer is no, but if I say no, then I'm throwing my chances out the window? And according to what you know of the market and what your individual firm is doing, how good would you say my chances are of getting sponsored?
I'm starting to get discouraged here, so I'd appreciate some inside information, good or bad. I just need to know.... 19 Nov 08, 10:11:43
