Colchester: How did Maverick Money Makers change my life?
May I speak to you in private...? I just can’t hold this huge secret anymore…What you are about to read will blow your mind…Trust me….
Thank you.
First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Philippe and I work as a civil engineer in China, but I will probably move to Australia very soon for another job. Income in the construction field is pretty good and I believe I am leading a very comfortable and exciting life since I have started working in this industry.
However, as you might also be, I do have a curious personality. I like to explore and try new things…For example, I have started my own trading and consulting company in order to help foreign company to set ... 20 Nov 08, 07:11:41
Colchester: HR People: U.S. work authorization question?
My OPT is currently pending and I'm looking for a job with consulting and research firms. Many of them ask if I am currently allowed to work. My answer is yes, since OPT has been approved and should be in soon.
My question is: is that really what they wanna know? or do they really mean: do you have an H-1, in which case the answer is no, but if I say no, then I'm throwing my chances out the window? And according to what you know of the market and what your individual firm is doing, how good would you say my chances are of getting sponsored?
I'm starting to get discouraged here, so I'd appreciate some inside information, good or bad. I just need to know.... 19 Nov 08, 10:11:43

Hi - I am graduating in May, 2009 and have 3 job offers which I have to respond to soon. DO NOT take into account that the BCG offer is abroad as this actually is a pro for me, but something I am not weighting too heavily. Please offer me insights regarding the offers:
1) Boston Consulting Group -- Associate -- Jakarta, Indonesia
2) Capital IQ (Division of S&P) -- Client Development Analyst -- New York, NY
3) Corporate Executive Board -- Research Associate -- Arlington, VA... 19 Nov 08, 03:11:41
Colchester: Banking/Consulting and Yr12/High School Focus?
I was wondering how much focus consulting/banking firms put on year 12 results after you graduate from uni and what mark they expect you to have had in year 12 when applying for these jobs. I mean, what happens if you come out with a degree with 1st class or 2nd class honors but didn't have 'Strong' high school marks? Will it be seriously still relevant 4-5years later? thanks
Here is an example, im from Australia.

Colchester: Do you think I can ever trust my husband again after he had an affair?
I caught my husband having an affair on May 5, 2008. When he was caught he begged my forgiveness and swore to me on our children's lives he would never see her or call her again. On April 5 I picked up our house phone and punched redial and her work number was on there with a *67 in front of it. He swore it was not him who dialed it and could come up with no good explanation as to why it was there. Then on November 15, 2008 we were dropping off a piece of furniture at his new office and I just happened to pick up his desk phone and hit redial and it was *67 and her work number again. He was cold busted then and had to admit that he did call, but hung up as soon as someone answered.... 17 Nov 08, 10:11:12
Colchester: How to get over someone you love lying to you?
My husband is in the military..when he first got out of his schooling we were allowed to put down where we would prefer to live. We put west coast hopeing that we would get to stay in Yuma, AZ where we already lived. I had an amazing job, our daughter loved her daycare and my family was here. We go orders across the country to Jacksonville, NC. I sucked it up and moved because I had no other options. That was two years ago. Come to find out that we did get Yuma, AZ and my husband called his parents (who knew some people that could get him orders ANYWHERE he wanted) and asked them to change his orders to live closer to them. So for the past two years, I have complained how depressed and lonel... 17 Nov 08, 05:11:52
Colchester: Forced overstaying in US?
I came to the US as a J-1, 2 days after my grace period started I receive an email from my mom in Colombia telling me there is a dangerous situation regarding to a case in which we witnessed. I went to the Colombian consulate, called the embassy and consulted an attorney and they told me not to leave the country, but none of them gave me any solution. The attorney told me I could take a babysitting job and we could solve anything without problems in my immigration record...which is very stupid if you think (I was so desperate that I followed his advice), my family is telling me to stay but I don't want to face that 180 days penalty...I'm looking for a Job somewhere else, and I have... 16 Nov 08, 10:11:45
Colchester: nurses pls react on this situation?
Nurse Benjie, who just finished her job orientation, is working with a patient for whom a surgical consult has been written. The unit clerk and long-time nurse on the unit remarked that Dr. George, the physician doing the surgical consultation, should be name Dr. George of the jungle because he often humiliates new nurses to try to put them in their place. He yells at them even at the tiniest mistake. Based on previous reports by other nurses on the unit, Benjie knows Dr. George has the reputation of being demeaning and inappropriately demanding when interacting with new nurses. An hour later, Dr. George appears on the unit and ask to see the nurse who did the surgical admission sheet. What ... 16 Nov 08, 12:11:32
Colchester: Do we have any legal ground against this contractor?
Do we have any ground against this contractor?
Contract was closed on June 1st and we gave his down payment. Work was supposed to be done by September 1st and contract included 2 other draws in the middle.
After he got his down payment he disappeared for 2 weeks (supposed late with another job. BUT he cashed the check). After we started working, he would work 2 days, disappear 4 or 5.
Then he asked us to anticipate one of the draws. He gave us those complicated excuses to why the job was not done BUT he needed more money. We gave it. A couple of weeks later he asked us for a draw 2 x bigger than the supposed value for the second draw (AND he hadn't finished the work he was suppos... 16 Nov 08, 12:11:36
