Cheltenham: What kind of things should I say at a job interview if they say So tell me about yourself. ?
I have a job interview tomorrow for the cashier position at Toys R Us. I've heard that the employers will often ask you to tell them about yourself, and I have no idea what I would say! I don't really have any hobbies, I'm only 18 so I don't have a husband and kids or anything. What should I say?... 02 Dec 08, 08:12:42
Cheltenham: HELP! I really need this job! Is quickbooks difficult to learn? ?
I got some quickbooks tutorials from the library and thought that if I'd read up on it then I could put it on my resume. I put it on my resume and now a company wants me to go in for an interview. I'm pretty good with debits and credits and I've used many other accounting softwares...just not quickbooks.
I've read books on quickbooks and it seems pretty easy...but what should I say when he asks me how much I know about it?
Thank you!!!... 02 Dec 08, 08:12:38

Cheltenham: Recruitment law, is this legal?
I work for an agency of a company (I'm employed by the agency and not the parent company). There is a senior post open which I am going through the selection process for and am at the final interview stage. Things are looking good but I have been told that there is a person that works for the parent company that is desperately wanting the job. He has not had to go through any of the recruiting phases that the other candidates have had to go for. A good source has told me that he and I are the prime candidates for the job. Is this legal?
I am in the UK.
Wayne, The other candidate is also looking to be promoted and therefore has gone through a selection process yes, but not for this r... 02 Dec 08, 07:12:40

Cheltenham: two job offers and don't know what to do?
I'm a recent college graduate, and like many of us recent grads out there, I had a rather difficult time finding good full time opportunities in the area of finance. Recently I've interviewed for two positions and both firms did give me an offer. The problem lies in that the more secure job isn't all that challenging and the exit opportunities worry me, whereas the other job is more challenging but it's a contract position. I'm not so sure what to do, is stability better in this situation? or should I go for the more challenging position although with contracts there's definitely no certainty?
help is much appreciated... 02 Dec 08, 07:12:32

Cheltenham: Cheap and fast eyeglasses? Phoenix metro area...?
I need a suggestion of a place where I can get cheap glasses (around $100 with frames and lenses) that I'd be able to get preferably same day or within a few days. I'm getting an exam at America's Best, but they take 7-10 business days and I don't think I can go that long without sight (I have a job interview in a week). Lenscrafters was the only place I could find but they charge over $200, not counting the rush charge I'm assuming they have. So a place with an on-site lab and affordable frames. Or maybe a reputable online company (none of the web sites I looked at mentioned rush orders). Thank you for any suggestions.... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:09
