Cheltenham: AMEX canceled my credit card, seemingly for no reason. Cited two credit checks. What can I do?
So I was recently informed that my AMEX card was canceled. They gave me several reasons, but it doesn't really make sense.
They said it's because I haven't had the card for very long, which is true, I've only had the card for 4 months.
The next reason was because I haven't had a long credit history, which is true because I'm a Canadian immigrant and I've only had a social security number for over a year, but I've been building credit the whole time.

Cheltenham: Recruitment law, is this legal?
I work for an agency of a company (I'm employed by the agency and not the parent company). There is a senior post open which I am going through the selection process for and am at the final interview stage. Things are looking good but I have been told that there is a person that works for the parent company that is desperately wanting the job. He has not had to go through any of the recruiting phases that the other candidates have had to go for. A good source has told me that he and I are the prime candidates for the job. Is this legal?
I am in the UK.

Cheltenham: Why did God give me a bully boss,making my job so bad I had to quit it?
Had the boss from 'h-ll'. got to the point i couldnt take anymore and quit. many christian friends advised me that sure God could find another job for me where I would be treated right. Guess what. They were wrong. I am still unemployed plus because i quit i dont have any income. luckily my spouse works. now I feel I have been the fool. I just wish God would have dealt with the person so I wouldnt have had to leave the job. Yes, i called H.R. no help there whatsoever. so what to do now? Cheltenham: How do engineering placement agencies work? Why are most engineering jobs through placement agencies?
Most advertised jobs (in Ontario, Canada) seem to be through placement agencies. Are they real, permanent full time jobs? How do these agencies work? Why don't companies hire engineers directly? Are these placement agencies legitimate?

Cheltenham: Can you make me feel better? I just lost my job.?
I just graduated with a Finance degree in May. (Great choice, huh?) Since then, I have been let go twice. The first time was for budget reasons. And then I got a job at a temp service. I thought they liked me, and they even offered me a full time position in 2 months when my contract with the temp agency was up. I guess I did something wrong though because the temp agency just called and said that they let me go.
