Carmarthenshire: Jobs in nonprofit sector/social movements?
I recently had an epiphany about what I would like to do with my life. I want to promote social movements, help organize awareness events and volunteers. I have looked into things like the Red Cross, United Way, Salvation Army etc, but none of them are hiring in my area. Where can I go to get into this has a profession. I know it is hard to do, I have done this before, and realized how much I love it! It's going to be a lot of work for little pay, and I am okay with that. I know that I will be making a difference and that will make up for the monetary means I will be missing.
I am about to graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with minors in Adver... 21 Mar 10, 01:03:41

I'm 17 and writing a resume for my first job as a cashier at a grocery store. Since I've never worked before, I have to list volunteer experience instead, but I'm afraid of being turned down over how I present the information on my resume. I'd appreciate if you could review what I have down in that section:

Carmarthenshire: How can I find a job that will incorporate the skills that I currently possess?
I have PR/Marketing skills in TV and Radio broadcasting. Right now I am working for a think-tank whose aim is to influence government/policy-makers when it comes to the culture of work. I enjoy/ed those jobs but in both I need a good grasp on politics which I find a bit of a struggle. Don't get me wrong, politics is very important and we should all be across it but I find it quite boring!! This tells me I'm probably in the wrong job.
My real interests lie in Arts, Drama, Music, Theatre, Dance (I've written a radio play and I did amateur dramatics when I was younger) or Charity work helping children or people living below the poverty line (connected to politics I know). I w... 20 Mar 10, 09:03:06

Carmarthenshire: Ramadan, what jobs can you get out of a degree in Islamic Studies?
I've been considering studying Islam at SOAC
But, what career could I get out of that? I mean, what job would there be for a person with a degree in Islamic Studies? I don't like the idea of teaching. I heard you could work for non-government charities like Islamic Relief and such? Is that true? But even then, I doubt I would make sufficient income to cover myself plus I have always wanted to pay back my parent's debts and give them something back.
I don't know..I'm scared if I take up studying something else then I would be easily distracted away from my deen. I mean, this life is so short and I want to live my life in a state of high iman inshALLAH. Yet at th... 19 Mar 10, 07:03:54

Australia's two richest men this morning hosted a breakfast for corporate barons at an Aboriginal hospitality training centre in Sydney's Darlington as part of the launch of GenerationOne, a public awareness campaign designed to encourage employers to offer jobs to Aborigines.
