Carlisle: Courier Jobs Info wanted for new driver?
I am interested in a driving job. However there are a few issues I have come accross in finding the work..
1) Taxi is out! I could not put up with the hassles that come with it in the way of drunk people, and non payers etc!
2) any other kind of public transport is also not appealing
3) I have a BIT of a dodgy back so cant do heavy items!!
so i came accross the idea of courier service! This sounds just what I am looking for! the sites I have found say that the drop off items will be no more than 30kg so should be ok. this other site provides info but goes into insurance etc and i dont know what most of it means! http://www.courierexchange.co.uk/resources/media/10.pdf

Carlisle: punctuation help please?
Secondly, being involved in the criminal justice field is a risk itself. Being a private investigator is even more of a dangerous job then an ordinary police officer. A private investigator job is to investigate on individuals they believe are or have committed a crime; therefor, this might involve following suspects around and watching them closely with at times no protection or a gun. Ferguson’s Career Guidance Center online site says “Private Investigators generally do not use firearms on the job they may carry a gun if an assignment warrants the need for one”. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics Website they state work can be very dangerous because of the awkward hours during... 02 Dec 08, 08:12:46
Carlisle: Unemployed and depressed what should I do ?
I was laid off about 3 weeks ago from a job that I worked at for over 5 years. I haven’t been eating and haven’t been able to leave my apartment. I wake up around noon and look outside and it is dark and cold every day. I can’t take it anymore. I need some structure in my life or I am a complete mess. I got on a few web sites and looked for jobs and even applied to volunteer at a few places but no one has replied. What can I do while I am out of work to keep me sane? I‘m loosing it!... 02 Dec 08, 08:12:52
Carlisle: There a dumb racist at my new job, do I tell how offense she is?
There is a woman originally from Nebraska who is all nice and drops these racist bombs like breathing. I have only worked with her a a day and a half. We had to travel for our job in the same car and I tried to make the best of it. Never in my life have I heard someone calmly say Chinese fire drill when changing drivers in the car. I tried to talk about a neutral subject like getting nails done. She went into still looking for someone good, and then she was recently cut, and the manicurist cut herself too.., Well she's Oriental, and you never know..,Well not cause she's Oriental, but anyone could have anything, and you have to be careful with cuts. And we pas... 02 Dec 08, 07:12:59
Carlisle: Foreigners making a living in Japan?
1. What is a good job to get if you're a foreigner living in Japan? I mean, like if you're an overseas student or something. A job that will allow you to sustain yourself and be able to reside in Japan.
2. Where are good, affordable areas around Tokyo to live? Ones that don't mind foreign residents. I know that a lot of places don't like it when foreigners have room mates. Listing places that don't mind this will be of great help.
3. After getting over the culture shock and home sickness of being in a new and mysterious land, how long do you think it would take to actually get used to life in Japan?
Answering in detail and links to useful sites is well appreciat... 02 Dec 08, 07:12:48
Carlisle: Cheap and fast eyeglasses? Phoenix metro area...?
I need a suggestion of a place where I can get cheap glasses (around $100 with frames and lenses) that I'd be able to get preferably same day or within a few days. I'm getting an exam at America's Best, but they take 7-10 business days and I don't think I can go that long without sight (I have a job interview in a week). Lenscrafters was the only place I could find but they charge over $200, not counting the rush charge I'm assuming they have. So a place with an on-site lab and affordable frames. Or maybe a reputable online company (none of the web sites I looked at mentioned rush orders). Thank you for any suggestions.... 02 Dec 08, 05:12:09
