Carlisle: Should I date my friend?
So here is the deal, I have been in love with a friend of mine since i can remember. We have been friends for about 12 yrs. (we are both 21) The problem is we aren't close anymore like we used to be and she has been dating this guy for about 4 years. her bf is a kind of a tool. He treats her well enough (although he did cheat on her a few times early on in the relationship and did some other sketchy stuff) he has no job, no motivation and hes still got delusions that his band of 2 guys will become famous. She knows he cheated on her but she was in denial about it. They aren't to close now and they only see each other like once a week. I have been in love with her for the longest ti... 02 Dec 08, 11:12:51

Carlisle: IS A BUSINESS MAJOR WITH A CONCENTRATION IN MARKETING A GOOD MAJOR?
I'm in international business (freshman) and was thinking of switching to marketing before it's too late.
I'm only in international business because my mom thought it was best for me, but I want to do marketing.
If I am fluent in three-five languages by the end of college (four years), graduate with a marketing major, and want to eventually be an entrepreneur, would this allow me to get a good job?
Or would international business still be better?
I know I should follow my heart, but in my case I really need to follow the path to filling my wallet. lol.
I want to get married and settle down which is another reason I am worrying over international business...I... 02 Dec 08, 09:12:45
Carlisle: I NEED ADVICE AND I KNOW PEOPLE HERE GIVE GOOD ADVICE: I WANT TO SWITCH MAJORS IN COLLEGE, BUT I'M SCARED?
I'm a freshman and am majoring in international business only because i'm good at languages and have studied abroad/do well abroad...
the thing is that I don't want to spend my entire life traveling the world because I want to get married, settle down, and start a family. I already know who I am marrying and I want to be an entrepreneur.
The truth is that as much as I love languages, I would rather be majoring in marketing (where I could at least graduate on time!...International business is the degree with the most credits needed at my school plus i'm taking my 3rd language:/)
I was thinking that if I majored in marketing, I could work with global companies and work i... 02 Dec 08, 09:12:20
Carlisle: I KINDA WANT TO SWITCH MY MAJORS...IS THIS A GOOD PLAN?!?
I'm a first-time freshman in college and am in International Business.
The only reason I chose this major is because I'm good at languages and have studied abroad and get along with foreigners and love airplane food etc., but my major has the most requirements (if I learn a language) and I'll probably graduate at least 1 year later than planned because I'm learning my third language and plan to learn two more.
I'm great at languages and business, but the truth is that I really prefer marketing...i'm hyper creative (one reason i'm good at languages [and art, cooking, and music...but those are hard to make money with lol]) and always found it so thrilling.... 02 Dec 08, 08:12:34

Carlisle: two job offers and don't know what to do?
I'm a recent college graduate, and like many of us recent grads out there, I had a rather difficult time finding good full time opportunities in the area of finance. Recently I've interviewed for two positions and both firms did give me an offer. The problem lies in that the more secure job isn't all that challenging and the exit opportunities worry me, whereas the other job is more challenging but it's a contract position. I'm not so sure what to do, is stability better in this situation? or should I go for the more challenging position although with contracts there's definitely no certainty?
help is much appreciated... 02 Dec 08, 07:12:32
