Cardiff: Which sector of IT would be most suited to me?
I have about 2 years worth of IT helpdesk support experience on both the software and hardware sides, and I'm looking to change sectors within IT as I'm not enjoying the helpdesk side at all - not enough training, hands-on experience, job satisfaction answering all calls all day etc. What I would like to know is, what other areas within the IT employment sector are open to me and which areas are the best to get into in terms of the current IT climate, job satisfaction and career prospects? I have done a degree in electronic/ computer engineering, so I have done some C++ programming although I was never great at it. Can someone advise me on what to do? Thanks!...

I am 14 and I love astronomy, and I want to have a career in astronomy. What careers are available that do not require a PhD because I am not planning on getting one? I would like a decent salary of about 90k plus after working for a while. If I were get my PhD, I would become a doctor and make 300k+ if I wanted too, instead of 100k. Cardiff: multiple questions here about logic IQ as well as weather im paranoid or picking up social and visual Q's?
K first of all I am a developmental psychology student. I am a fairly weird personality mainly because well I have multiple learning disabilities, I have ADD, and a slow visual processing speed disability. I have always been fairly odd, I enjoy working on computers taking them apart and such. As a child I had a fair amount of social anxiety and did not do well socially. As I have aged I am much more competent, I still have attentional issues, as well as a hard time getting started on assignments I procrastinate allot. Anyways now to the question basically I have started to notice I am treated quite differently because well probably because of my disability and such and being in a deve...

Cardiff: Is there a way to fast-track A level maths & physics or get into engineering without them?
If you have a bit of background on me, maybe you might be able to suggest something I haven't thought of. At school I did well in physics (Grade A at GSCE), and maths (didn't get a GCSE though; long story). After school I did film production at college, which was fun, but I couldn't see a career in it. I decided to go down the web technologies route at university as there was a job lined up for me once I completed the course, but I dropped out; I found it rather boring. I've had plenty of time to think about it now and I want to get into engineering. My first thought was electronics engineering; I can get onto a local university course that will allow me to cover A ...

Cardiff: Why do business degrees get such a bad rap?
My family is as blue collar as you can get, neither of my parents graduated highschool, and I never learned of business. Terms like initial public offering, stockholder's equity and P/E ratio were unheard of to me. SO when I came to college, I learned about the business school and it excited me. I learned that majors such as finance and accounting led to jobs that were both sought after and well paying. So I became and accounting major, now third year. Since then, I've herad a lot of criticism of business majors, and not just the generic general managment major. People talk of business majors being joke majors, and one older woman was horrified to learn that I wa...
