Cardiff: Detailed explanation of Adolf Eichmann's first jobs?
I have read that Adolf Eichmann, after failing to complete engineering school, 1) was employed by his father at his mining company, then 2) worked for the Upper Austrian Elektrobau Company, and lastly 3) worked for The Vacuum Oil Company before joining the SS. How did he get his job at the UAEC and the Vacuum Oil Company, and did his father's aristocracy have anything to do with his having these jobs?...

Cardiff: I would like to have a career but worry it's never gonna happen?
I graduated from college a few years ago. I worked full time to get the degree, while other kids were out having a social life I was working 24/7- all kinds of unpleasant jobs. I have a BA in Spanish but I've never had a decent job, just a series of crappy ones. I've never had a real career. I just got my Tefl certificate and would like to teach English overseas. The trouble is, that I need to save up a substantial amount of $$$ before I can go abroad and teach. I've been substitute teaching, and the work environment is getting increasingly hostile and I'm not getting paid enough to live decently, let alone survive. I can't quit but it's clear ...

Cardiff: Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve?
Will civil engineering in the ANG or Air Force Reserve help learn a trade? How high would you need to school on your asvab to get that and are civil engineering jobs hard to come by? Heres the deal. I'm 24 and do ok at my job, but I'm really wanting to do something worth while with my life. I my could be gone tomorrow or I could get laid off, so I figured that in either branch I would 1. Have an adventure. 2. Learn something to help me in civilian life. 3. Challenge myself. 4. Not have to worry about money for college or retirement if I put my time in. If someone gets laid off and are in the guard/reserve is it hard to want to work more days in a month besides the ...

Cardiff: What is the best college major for computer repair?
I have a close friend who's really into computers - specifically, repairing them. He wants to become a computer technician, but he's really not all that interested in programming. There are two college degrees available where we live: 1.) Engineering Technology, which is a 2 year degree. It seems to suit him a little more, since it's concentrating more on the physical repair of computers. 2.) Computer Science, which is a 4 year degree. It has a bit of computer repair in it, but a lot of it doesn't really hit home on what he's wanting. He's thinking about doing the Computer Science one, because it'll increase his chances of getting a job....

Cardiff: Husbands career change move? Design engineer?
Hi everyone. My husband is 35 years old and a maintenance man at a factory. I have been pushing him to go to school for something, because he is getting older and already has back problems. I am really hoping he will go to school for a design engineer. I know it is only a 2 year degree. Is there a lot of algebra involved with that kind of job? My husband isn't the best at algebra, but is GREAT at making things, welding, fixing things. He just has such a knack for it. I suggested design engineer, because it could involve a lot of different areas than just sitting at a computer desk. Run at rates, making the prototypes, i think he would really enjoy it. WHat do you think? i kno...
