Canada: If the Government Gives Me Universal Health Care, Why Should I Work Anymore?
I'm an older employee who has enough saved to start my retirement now.
The only reason I work is so I can keep payment on my Health care insurance.
If the government decides to give me free health care (I'll be retired and won't have an income anymore) why should I continue to work? I could give my job to a younger person who the company would pay less to do my job.
Once retired, I would have the time to see the doctor often to get these little complaints taken care of, all of this would be free, right?
So why would anyone work once given free health care?
Is this fair to everyone?
Eddie - Universal Health Care means I get to retire, you keep on working. You... 03 Dec 08, 08:12:02

Canada: A bottom up approach means investing in education,Ok so question? Solutions?
A bottom up approach means investing in education, job training, GI Bills, student grants, and subsidized loans. It means helping people and small business work their way up. Ok so question? Solutions?
A bottom up approach means investing in education – where does this money come from? Besides the Alummi who give millions
job training - for who and for what? And who pays for the training where does the money come from?
GI Bills, I thought we had those already?
Student grants – Don’t everyone from Hersheys chocolate and Planned Parenthood to the NAACP, schools, Alumni etc.. and the government have these things in place already??
Subsidized loans - I thought we had these... 03 Dec 08, 07:12:34
Canada: Anybody doing a train to gain qualification?
Hi,
I was contacted at work today by an advisor for the government funded train to gain scheme, i'm quite interested as there are aspects about my job that i have a little difficulty with as i have never been formally trained, such as accountancy skills.
Has anyone done/are doing one of these NVQ qualifications and is it/has it been worth it, also is it actually free?
I know i may not know until i actually meet these people, but just wondered if anyone had any positive/negative feedback?
Thank you... 03 Dec 08, 07:12:05
Canada: Is this welfare frawd. ?
i know a girl who is pregnant and at her yearly review asked for no raise. She did the math and the raise would make her ineligible for WIC, food stamps and Medicaid. The job does not offer health insurance so she would have to pay for the delivery meds etc for the baby. The raise would just of been 1.00 more an hour but she decided the over all benifit from the government is better than the cash in her pocket. She would spend more out of pocket and would not be able to afford to live.... 03 Dec 08, 07:12:02
Canada: Mumbai Tragedy ---- Who did it?
Terrorist attack on Mumbai can not be the event done by one group. It looks as a joint effort of many evils with different motives. In my opinion it could be a joint operation of following groups
1)Dons and Gangsters of Mumbai.
2)Jewish Extremists or Secret Service of Israel.
3)Extremist Muslims inside or outside India.
Why!
1)Job of providing arms and maps might be given to some Don or Gangster of Mumbai, as they were most suitable for this job.
2)Jewish Extremists or Secret Service of Israel might be interested in such a thing to put responsibility on Pakistan and to show the whole world that Pakistan is not a responsible/capable country, so Pakistan should not have nuclear weapons.... 03 Dec 08, 07:12:09
