Cambridge: Where should I work as a student?
This coming spring semester I will be enrolling in full time classes. It will be my freshman year and financial aid will be paying for everything. I need to find a job that will fit my school schedule and allow me to get decent hours in or pay so I can make ends meet. I can't stand doing classes at night, so the earlier is the better. Working afternoons or nights isn't a big problem for me. I have been in food service, and it has had its pros and cons. In the past I have only held food handling or bus boy jobs, since I cannot serve alcohol. Bussing can really suck ass at certain places if they get busy enough, but the tips were nice. These jobs feel constantly stressful sin...

Cambridge: Do you need to sign a contract in the workplace?
Yesterday my husbands employer wanted my husband and the other tradesmen to sign an agreement stating that their gross income is going to be less than they are earning now. Actually by a couple of hundred dollars a week. They are doing it as an incentive based scheme so that if the employee works really hard (most of them already work really hard for 60hrs/wk) they will earn a bonus. However it means that their weekly wage, holiday leave etc will be lower and there will be less money going into superannuation. Everyone else signed the contract except for my husband (I think they signed it in fear of their jobs). The company has never been known to be honest and have lost many workers ov...

I went to the hospital to be seen and went he doctor finally came back she walked in and told me right away that she couldn't' do anything for me that I would have to see a gynecologist. I tried explaining to her what my primary care physican had told me to do but she didn't see interested. I told her that I do have ovarian cysts, her response was most women have them without problems . I also told her that the cramps have lasted double...

Cambridge: Would I win against my old roommate in small claims?
Okay so I lived with a friend of mine last year. Well in August we were supposed to be moved out. She said she had made a deal with the apartment complex to get a new apartment in the same complex with another roommate (because I was moving in with my boyfriend). Well then that new roommate backed out on her. But before that had happened she told me to take my time moving out (like, an extra 10 days) because she was going to be there anyways. So then she finds out her new roommate backs out and wants me to pay rent. I was like no fucking hell you said to take my time, but anyways since she was going to be like that then I got out within 2 days (I had slowly been moving out). We g...

Cambridge: How is this legal? Isnt it bad business practice?
Five Star Sale Inc. 1875B Rohlwing Rd. Rolling Meadows,Illinois,60008 Phone: (800)-642-6147 1-847-253-7766 http://5starsalesinc.com This company hires sales groups to sell door-to-door. Any one can work there, but they especially prefer teens and people in there 20's. This is because they have their independent contractors go door to door selling magazines as if they were in a magazine drive for a school or college. They serve a sales pitch to the consumer regarding a contest and $1000 dollars and that contest is valid. There is a contest, the contractors win if they make the most sales. However, they dont mention that they are paid in commission for sales and have...
