Cambridge: Where should I work as a student?
This coming spring semester I will be enrolling in full time classes. It will be my freshman year and financial aid will be paying for everything. I need to find a job that will fit my school schedule and allow me to get decent hours in or pay so I can make ends meet. I can't stand doing classes at night, so the earlier is the better. Working afternoons or nights isn't a big problem for me. I have been in food service, and it has had its pros and cons. In the past I have only held food handling or bus boy jobs, since I cannot serve alcohol. Bussing can really suck ass at certain places if they get busy enough, but the tips were nice. These jobs feel constantly stressful sin...

Cambridge: I feel like I'm allowing my youth to pass me by. It makes me sad.?
I feel like I'm so much more conservative than my peer college students, like I don't go out as much, i don't shop as much, I just am not as social as they are, I don't dress as stylish as they do. I'm not someone to jump at every chance to go out either especially if I don't care for the occasion. I currently have a good job that pays me well. So I have this part of my life going for me, but I feel like all I'm doing is working like a stay at home mom, which I'm not. Thinking about this really makes me sad sometimes. I feel like I'm letting my youth drain away. What should I do?...

Cambridge: What can I call my classroom helpers?
I'm about to start teaching a grade 6 class in January, and I'm not sure what name I should use for my classroom helpers. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, each week, 2 students are assigned (using a roster so it's fair) the job of being the classroom helpers for the week. This includes things like running errands, answering the classroom phone, handing out workbooks etc. When I taught younger year levels I would call this 'helping hands' and get the students to each decorate a paper hand with their name on it, and the appropriate hands would get stuck up on the board each week. But the helping hands idea seems a bit lame for grade 6. Does a...

Cambridge: Trade Schools- help!?
I'm going to be honest, I'm a horrible student. I've always been that way, and I can't really do a whole lot to change it. I'm trying to have a career- almost any career at this point- in design, either graphic or interior. I had to drop out of Kent State University after one semester because I was doing so badly, and came back home and have been attending community college ever since. quite frankely, i'm extremely tired of going to school at all...I can't stand it and want it to be over with, and I'm still doing bad even with just two basic classes and no job. I've been reeming about this whole school thing because of all the extra work you ha...

Cambridge: Would you judge these people for wanting to become parents?
A married couple (he's 25, she's 21) who have been married almost 2 years. They have a wonderful marriage. He has a good job & can provide for both of them with excess. She's a full time college student (senior) and he's starting grad school in January so he can get an even better job. They're definitely not rich, and they live in a rented townhouse, but they pay all their bills w/o credit cards and don't rely on gov't assistance or anything like that. They know that being parents isn't easy , but they're at the point in their marriage and personally where they want to have children. The couple is my husband and me. We've b...

Cambridge: Boyfriend and I are completely opposite in every way, has anyone else been in this situation, can it work?
I've been dating this amazing guy for about 6 months. We're moving into a house together at the end of this month. He's not someone i would have picked out of a crowd as my type but we hit it off right away. We are completely OPPOSITE, or DIFFERENT in every way. He has tattoos, piercings, and a unique fashion sense. Which i love about him- What concerned me a little was the ways we're different concerning career/background/goals ect... He absolutely hates school whereas I'm a college student, and plan to be in college for many more years.(he completely supports this) I'm currently 21. He is 22, has his GED, and is happy working HARD low paying job...

I have a certificate and they said they aren't interested because of it. I am going to put it down on resumes because I earned it. My moms company wont hire me either because I am a colelge student. They want someone without college. What is there I can do?...
