Brighton: Are you going miss illegal Mexicans leaving the U.S. and planning never to return?
DENVER – After going months without a full-time job, Daniel Ramirez has decided it's time to return to family in Mexico. Vicenta Rodriguez Lopez says she can't afford to live in Colorado any more because her husband was deported. Roberto Espinoza is going back, too. After 18 years as a mechanic for a General Motors dealership in Denver, his work permit wasn't renewed and he didn't want to remain in the country illegally. All are leaving Colorado in time for Christmas — joining a traditional holiday migration that will number almost 1 million people, says Mexico's interior ministry. But they have no intention of returning to Colorado, a place that promise...

Brighton: What do you do when you feel you will implode if you don't explode?
Ugh, the pressure in my life - work, home, work, home, husband, in-laws, community involvement. Everything I do is wrong and everyone gives me crap because of it. I was hired to run an office, but the owner didn't have the stones to get rid of the person who was sort of in the job but was making a mess of it. So, she constantly sabotages me. Teens - do I have to say more? I have a quarter of a dozen of the buggers. EVERY thing I do is wrong. Husband - threw me under the bus with the in-laws once again because he can't stand up for his family Comm involvement - not sure what I did when I was about to take over a community group. Someone started some type of rumor ab...

Brighton: He has a Girlfriend, but says he likes me? ?
Okay, it's the classic question. The guy with the girlfriend who flirts with me. Background to the story though is all important... when you see these questions people automatically think they guy is a total idiot... I give you my word, this guy is not a nasty person... the reason he is in this mess is due to genuine emotion and caring for other people... if anything im the one being the idiot. It all started at the end of September...I started a new job. I met this guy who I thought was quite cute, and before i knew much about him i was enjoying the attention he was paying me... i couldnt quite believe my luck that this guy was showing interest, his friend who started working there at t...

Brighton: Do you agree with this letter?
To All My Valued Employees, There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn't pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country. However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interests. First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a Back Story. This b...

Brighton: Should you have to pay for daycare when you are gone for holiday's? ?
My daycare lady has informed me she will be charging me. Even though I asked her when I put my daughter in her daycare three months prior that I would be gone between Christmas and New years. And she said she never charged. But since everyone took the same holidays she was going to charge. Because she said everyone else gets paid if they work other jobs. But actually I do not get paid for my holiday's....

Brighton: Who else hates the western dream?
I'm sick to death of parents bringing their children up to think the world is a happy, friendly place - I'm sick of seeing this rotting, putrid, stagnating beast called the western dream shoved in our faces every day. White picket fences, drop the kids to soccer on Saturday, dinner with the Jones' on Sunday night, big black family-sized SUV, parent's house on Christmas eve. Working crappy jobs to buy stuff we don't need? is that all the general idiot thinks life is about? no you aren't special, there are many others just like you, no one has each a unique and special characteristic/talent that they bring to the world your just another number, you...

Brighton: Can I sue my dentist?
About 8 months ago, I had 2 major front molars replaced w/permanent porcelain crowns (w/the studs attached @ the gum(s).) Unfortunetly, both teeth fell out during the Christmas holidays & since it was so unsightly, you can imagine how embarrassed I was this holiday season. I couldn't wait to call my dentist office on the following Monday, when their holiday break was up & luckily, the receptionist reassured me that this sort of thing does happen & that I could come in the following day. At the appointment, the dentist took an x-ray & then sent in her financial assistant to inform me that unfortunately, there was not enough tooth left on one to su...
