Bourton On The Water: How can I get a job handling detection dogs?
I'm finishing up a college degree and work as an intelligence analyst in the Guard. I see the CBP working narcotics dogs in the airports all the time and am very interested in learning more about becoming a handler. I'm not interested in police work but rather DoD gov't. I know I have a lot of options to stay in intel but I'm hoping that that training can help me get involved in a government canine program. I checked out the CBP website and found info on their program but no information on how to become a handler. I'm definitely open to other agencies, I just don't want to be a patrol law enforcement officer. Anyone have any information about this program with C...

Bourton On The Water: Chance of getting hired while on probation?
I have a friend who is on probation for a misdemeanor conviction. He will be on probation for 2 years. How likely would he be able to obtain a job with either a local city government, state (Florida) or federal employment? He is a former Marine who served in Iraq and has no previous job experience. Thanks............

Bourton On The Water: I Need To Earn About $500 A Week For The Next 7 Months?
I'm hoping to go on a student exchange trip in August of next year, as this is my last chance to go on a student exchange trip as I am almost in my last year of school. All up the trip is going to cost about $15000, including my personal spending money and preparations for the trip. I am a 17 year old female. I have a part time job at the moment, working 4 hours a week, earning $12 an hour. I receive government benefits of about $50 a week. I have some ideas of having a garage sale, going to a local market, selling things on ebay. But apart from that, I think I need a miracle to earn the amount of money I'm after. It seems more realistic to set a goal of $500 a wee...

Bourton On The Water: Government pay for commercial organsiations seasonal staff?
posted a question a couple of weeks ago about work trials. Since then I have been told that the jobcentre have said to the supermarket they can have unpaid workers for Christmas season. Usually you are interviewed for a position and can do a work trial to check your suitability; it is supposed to be voluntary. This time the supermarket will not interview unless the whole three weeks are worked over christmas. Then I will be interviewed, but not for the job I will be doing, and the store have no idea how many positions they will have (they have between 20-40 workers on work trial). If I do not do it I will be seen as refusing work. Also I am not covered by employers insurance, just the pub...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7759905.stm I understand the governments position and need to get people back to work...but where in the hell are these 'jobs' going to come from with so many buisnesses and shops shutting down?...and according to reports, the credit crunch hasn't even got properly started yet Like I said,I understand that Brown wants people back in work, but by cutting people's benifits at this terrible economic time, isn't this going to lead to even worse poverty and more crime?...
