Bourton On The Water: How can I get a job handling detection dogs?
I'm finishing up a college degree and work as an intelligence analyst in the Guard. I see the CBP working narcotics dogs in the airports all the time and am very interested in learning more about becoming a handler. I'm not interested in police work but rather DoD gov't. I know I have a lot of options to stay in intel but I'm hoping that that training can help me get involved in a government canine program. posted a question a couple of weeks ago about work trials. Since then I have been told that the jobcentre have said to the supermarket they can have unpaid workers for Christmas season. Usually you are interviewed for a position and can do a work trial to check your suitability; it is supposed to be voluntary. This time the supermarket will not interview unless the whole three weeks are worked over christmas. Then I will be interviewed, but not for the job I will be doing, and the store have no idea how many positions they will have (they have between 20-40 workers on work trial).
