Bournemouth: Is my boss a bully? The workplace is becoming toxic. What should I do?
Whenever anything isn't done fast enough or exactly how he would do it, he gets extremely impatient and starts to sharply criticize me. It is very awkward and uncomfortable. I am not doing things wrongly and do get things done, but not always in the way he would do it. I am trying my best here. I am new to this career, state, company and so on and I am learning a lot here. I wouldn't mind if he was a bit more friendly and courteous about things. Instead, he is quite loud and demanding and makes me feel demeaned. He is also younger than me. I am 32 and I think he's only 30. The other day there was a mix-up over a package that was expected and he started blaming me for ...

Bournemouth: should I go for A+ certification?
Ok so last year i took A+ course for hardware in grade 11 this year i took grade A+ course for software. I averaged an A- in both classes. It taught me a lot about computers and is my foundation for it. I first took the classes to teach me about building computers and stuff for fun. I also learned a lot like binary and stuff. I will prob have to read the big text book to complete my learning. I just want to know if its worth being A+ certified? Does it look good on your resume and stuff if your applying for any job?...

Bournemouth: How to adapt to a family business. Mechanical engineer?
I recently completed my mechanical engineering and joined my fathers business. Due to certain critical chain of events, i can't work elsewhere, i can't study further- mba or ms. So i'm kinda stuck here, in the family business with lots of politics and nagging. With no training, no experience, and negligible practical knowledge, i feel like i've learn't nothing at engineering. And its making me feel more and more depressed everyday. All i'm told is that i need to learn everything. This is a question to all mechanical engineers. Can you learn and expertise in everything that you've learn't in college? Or do you expertise only in a few areas? ...

Bournemouth: Mother daughter wedding dance songs?
My mom raised me as a single mother my whole life. My father was in and out of jail all the time, even when he was out he wasnt around that much. He died a few years ago of a drug OD. My grandfather played the 'dad' role in my life and he did a damn good job at it. It was always my dream to have him walk me down the isle on that big day - but he also passed away. And when I put things into perspective, even though my mom made MANY mistakes - I she deserves the job. I was able to learn from her mistakes and because of her I'm a strong, kind person today. I want to pick a good song to dance to with her at my wedding, Any suggestions? I dont think dancing with my mom t...

Bournemouth: Why does Poland have such double standards?
When jobs were many in Ireland we welcomed Polish people to our shores,if only to fill the jobs created by our booming construction industry but also to give our Polish friends a chance to make more money in a month than they would in a whole year in Poland. But now that we are in a recession and unemployment is rising fast the Polish are telling Irish labourers in search of work to not bother going to Poland because they are not wanted, even though they are going through a boom.maybe the next time we are in a boom we will learn not to be so friendly to our Polish ''friends'' again...

Bournemouth: my son's father is being verbally abusive to me?
My sons father thinks its ok to call me names and just generally make me feel bad about myself. I DO NOT want my son growing up thinking this is ok. My boyfriends dad acts the same way so im sure that he learned it from his dad. He can somehow make me think that I'm lazy and do nothing when i work fulltime, go to school partime and pretty much take care of our son by myself. I know it's not true and that I need to get away from him. My problem is that I've been with him for 3 years and have gotten use to always having him around (we live together). I know that it's my fault for not leaving him earlier and having a child with him but theres nothing I can do about that now....

Bournemouth: How do you tell a friend that his dream isn't happening?
I've got a buddy who is an aspiring actor. He was at our place for dinner last night and so I'm thinking of him. For two years he's been chasing this dream of acting while putting the rest of his life on hold, and I'm wondering if it's time for him to pursue something else because the acting just isn't going anywhere. True, he's been in three plays - one at college, two in community theater. He's been an extra in several movies (you can actually spot him in The Dark Night, running for his life from the hospital). He also does improv from time to time (when the troupe has money to rent out a hall and put on a show). But everything else is on hold....
