Bangor: Would you take a pay cut to keep from losing your job?
I work in a hospital for over 15 yrs. I feel like I know my job well and have a good relationship with everyone. I think we will eventually face lay offs. I think my position will be eliminated before someone who has been there say 2 or 3 yrs because of the amount of money I make, I think I would get the pink slip before the less experienced, cheaper RN. If they start handing out pink slips, I think I would be better off to take a $10 an hr pay cut before losing my job. Whats your opinion?... 04 Dec 08, 11:12:45

I wish to find a good job with a decent earning (say min 12K, ideally 15K). I have excellent communication skills and can even do public speaking very well.
My line of interest is to find a psychology related job or a HR job. Can some one help me how to go about finding one ?... 04 Dec 08, 09:12:14

Bangor: Question about COBRA Health coverage.?
A few months ago I broke my ankle and now require surgery. At this time I was under my mothers health benefits, but now I am not. We notified the employer that we needed continued coverage and have yet to receive any information. My understanding is that legally they have 14 days to send the information. My only problem is I already canceled surgery once and have to have the surgery before the end of the month. Is there any legal action that I can take? I dont want to be a pain in the butt since my mom still works there and I dont want to jeopardize her job, but I would like to walk eventually. It hasnt been like we havent addressed the situation- we have called and went to the HR office eve... 04 Dec 08, 08:12:58
Bangor: Is there a way to get out of paying for college tuition? bogus school?
I went to a legit school in TX, but in the end it was boo boo school I feel I did not learn anything there, I graduated and everything, got my assoc.'s degree but have not ever used it. At first when I applied I asked if I would make more money than what I was making (was making $14.50 hr) by the time I graduated they were right about, that they would always look for work for me, but the only offers that they gave me were $9.50 hr jobs, (I was thinking, I could of done that myself looked for a sucky pay job) And since I made too much they federal loan did not cover my total tuition @ $17,000. So they gave me 2 loans one for the tuition $13,000 and another in house loan for $4,000 so i h... 04 Dec 08, 07:12:45

Also, my interests seem to have now switched to 3 things. I know please bear with me like you always have:-)
1) I feel I should take the GMAT/GRE in order to enroll in either an MBA or a Ms IN Journalism. Which of the two, again I cannot decide.

Bangor: Working in the public sector vs the private sector ...?
To date, most of my experience has been gained in the private sector, except for a few short-term contracts at the beginning of my career.
I was made redundant three weeks ago and have been applying for every job I can as I'm terrified about the current economic situation, and didn't think I could afford to be picky.
I've been offered a job in the public sector. It sounds like a nice role - exactly what I want to - but working in the public sector doesn't really appeal.
I have an interview this afternoon for a similar role, but in the private sector, and incidentally, one of the questions that my agency has asked me to prepare an answer for is why do you w... 04 Dec 08, 11:12:57
