Bangor: How can you protect yourself from the people in hiring positions?

QUESTION: How can you protect yourself from people like this when going out looking for a job.
Also want to know: Has anyone else run across similar instances regarding being treated grossly inappropriate and jsut knife cutting level of rudeness by managers who you don't even know and did absolutely nothing to?
i.e. deliberately just for sick pleasure having the person come back again the following day at 3 pm, just to have them sit somewhere with no staff coming up to them to interview, just looking and staring a... 04 Dec 08, 11:12:17
Bangor: How to get a job with only so many available hours?
I'm in a horrible situation right now - I just had to quit my last job because of a crazy boss and, of course, with the way the economy is no one is hiring. At all. I'm going back out tomorrow to job-hunt for like, the 3rd time but I would like some advice.
Here's the deal: I have plenty of job experience. Worked 6 months in a food place (Coldstone) and 3 months at a daycare. I DO still hold my pride heavy and refuse to resort to a McDonalds or Burger King, but I suppose any other place I'll take. Unlike at the daycare though, I'm back to living on my parent's schedule and can only work 4 pm to 9 pm during weekdays, but anytime during weekends. (They drive me... 04 Dec 08, 11:12:47

Bangor: Dealing with negative relatives. How do you handle it?
I have recently gone through a dilemma. I had a fast food job for a year that drove me nuts. Promises were not kept from management. I worked bu rear off while other wandered around. Etc. After one year I realized that the job was nowhere. I had sought other work for months. Well about 2 weeks ago. I was fired after telling a manger how I felt. Today I found a job that pays better etc. So I told my half sister and aunt what had happened a week ago. They offer to try to help me financially till my checks roll in. I did not ask. Well to the point.
They seem to come up with all these reasons that I was doing all these things in my personal life resulting in my getting fired. Accsusing me of ... 04 Dec 08, 11:12:02
Bangor: Help setting up a filesharing network and transferring data between computers?
As the question states, really. I have a computer that I need to do a factory restore on, and I can't back upmy files via CDs or any other methods right now... so I'm trying to transfer data from this computer to a laptop (which I can't use full-time, since it belongs to my parents and their permission only extends to this transfer), temporarily, so I don't lose anything.
I had a jump drive I was using, but it got quite tedious, and frankly, I wanna get the job done faster (or without so much back-and-forth). I have an ethernet cable (a crossover cable, I'm pretty sure), and it's connected to both computers.
The problem comes in the actual dirty work. I ca... 04 Dec 08, 10:12:22
Bangor: Good decision or bad decision?
I had saved up over $4,000 over the past few years, so up until this past July I was driving a used Ford Explorer that barely worked (tranny was shot, among other problems).
So basically, this past July, I went around shopping, just looking . Then I found a good deal, about $16,000 for a used 2007 Jeep Cherokee in good condition w/ only 25k miles and other dealership bells-&-whistles like road-side assistance, warranty plan, etc. Long story short, I caved, I bought it. So now I have $300 payments for the next 3 1/2 years or so. At the time I didn't care, I was willing to pay anything for some peace of mind.
I'm 20 years old and about halfway through college, I... 04 Dec 08, 10:12:10

Bangor: I feel like my boyfriend is not taking me seriously,?
We have been going out for almost 3 years... I love him to death and would do anything for him. We moved in together 04/01/08 so 8 months, He hasnt had a job for like 5 months, he has to ask his mom for money all the time, for his side of the rent and eletric and cable. I really hate the fact that he doesnt have a job and i keep telling him over and over and he isnt doing anything about it. All he does is go to school part time and play world of warcraft. We dont even do anything together, he never puts thought into anything, like going out to eat or cooking me breakfast. I dont want to sound high maintence, BUT he wont even watch tv with me. I go to bed every night by myself around 12ish a... 04 Dec 08, 10:12:39
Bangor: I need advice....spiritual advice...?
I know it's kinda long and I am sorry for it...
I'm in spiritual turmoil here...
This is my situation...
I invited a family to live in my house so that they can get on their feet.
The man was a bit deceptive about his situation...he didn't tell me the whole story until after he had moved in (in regards to recent marijuana use--which hurts his chances at certain employment; as well as a criminal record...and he is a smoker...who feels that it is a human right to smoke even though he doesn't have money to feed his family)...his fiancee and 17 month old daughter are also living here with him.
He just got a 40-hour-a-week, $8/hour job...and has told... 04 Dec 08, 09:12:56
Bangor: What do you do when you live with someone who is driving you crazy?
I CANNOT STAND LIVING WITH MY SISTER. She's 23. I'm 20.
neither of us have the money to move out & so we're living with our parents.
she goes to work at least at night & i don't have a job.
we both go to school.
but she is just driving me nuts. her laziness. her b|tching. her disrespect. her pessimistic negative nature.
IF you are in the same situation as me, what is your suggestion? (other than make money & move out. duh) I JUST WANT TO STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM HER AS POSSIBLE!!!!... 04 Dec 08, 09:12:46
