Head of Purchasing - High Profile Quality led Organisation, London, £60,000 See other jobs from Portfolio Status: Full Time Salary: £60-70,000 Job Location: Europe > United Kingdom > London   Job Description Head of Purchasing - High Profile Quality led Organisation, London, £60,000 Client Profile: Our client possesses a worldwide reputation as a quality high-end retail operator Job Specification: o Champion the Central Purchasing function and purchasing best within the business. Build professional relationships with all key stakeholders (internally and externally) to ensure an effective and collaborative working structure. o Effectively manage Central Purchasing team (Purchasing Manager, Deputy Purchasing Manager and Procurement Administrator). To include project tasking, coaching, monitoring and appraising and all general team management functions. o Work closely with Expense Control Manager to form ‘open channel’ of communication to allow better visibility and forward planning and increase efficiency in the procure-to-pay cycle. o Assist each Director in managing their budgets effectively and avoiding overspends. o Ensure that the supply base is strategically managed with the correct level of competition, contract management and integration assigned to each category of supplier. o Identify and investigate Make or Buy / In-source or outsource opportunities. o Work on Group projects as and when required. o Act as agent for the business with regard to Waste Packaging Obligation regulations- this is managed by a consultancy firm in partnership with several other large department stores. Person Specification: You will be an established purchasing professional with a proven track record of success in this competitive field.
