Executive Director (Sales, Marketing & Operations) See other jobs from Work Permit Centre Status: Full Time Salary: £21-25k Job Location: Europe > United Kingdom > Earith, Cambs   Job Description Background An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated person to expand my client’s business between the UK and Pakistan. My client is a well established freight & forwarding business that currently has active agents working in East Africa and South America. The current business with Pakistan has great potential and thus we are looking for someone with proven skills in this field. Duties & Responsibilities 1. To take complete control of the company office. 2. To expand current activities and market services in the above mentioned areas. 3. To develop relationships and handle operations with both current & new clients. 4. Liaise directly with businesses in Pakistan that require information and quotations relating to the company’s services in the UK. 5. To establish commercial agreements and relationships with trade partners and key distribution channels both in the UK and in Pakistan. 6. Monitor, analyse and report on competitor activities in order for the company to remain competitive and increase market share. 7. Regular communication with Board regarding general business performance. Skills, Qualifications and Experience 1. A talented business professional with 5+ years experience in the freight & forwarding industry required (although the quality and relevance of experience is more important than the number of years) 2. A good knowledge of both the UK & Pakistan freight markets. 3. Experience in dealing with the Pakistani market and organisations would obviously be considered advantageous. 4. Bilingual to professional standard in English and Urdu is obviously a prerequisite as the candidate must liaise directly with the Pakistani speaking market. 5. Fantastic at caring for your customers and be able to provide excellent service at all times 6. High operating standards, a person who can manage the business intelligently and make it their own. Ability to independently manage the overall operations of a freight & forwarding business. 7. You will have excellent communications, planning, organisational and numerical skills 8. IT savvy as you will be expected to oversee projects including database setup, development of an internet based communications system and website construction. 9. Knowledge of management practices and procedures. 10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients at all levels of the organisation. 11. Accountancy capability, responsible for all financial transactions and upkeep of records. 12. Ability to analyze, breakdown, and understand complex problems and provide solutions.
