Job Description
Working for a central London Local Authority you will be responsible for the management, supervision and appraisal of staff within an accountancy team.
Duties/Responsibilities
Ensure finance staff provide effective service in accordance with agreed standards.
Initiate and prepare reports to provide financial advice to Directorate management team.
Analyse new legislation and Government/professional guidelines.
Manage the development of systems to improve budget setting, bugetary control and regular projections.
Provide financial advice to budget holders. Liaise withother directorates on finacial and accounting matters.
Explore alternative funding opportuniites and ensure that all grant funding received by directorate is presented to board.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum three years experience providing financial and budgetary control over a significant budget. Previous experience of working in Education finance within Local Government would be desirable. Proven track record of managing accounting staff and knowledge of Local Government finance. This a temporary contract lasting approximately three months. Candidates must be available to interview and start immediately.
